Pushing an actress
In 2014, the Bandra Kurla Police Station in Mumbai arrested Ravi Singh after he pushed a Marathi actress named Sharvani during an event while trying to manage the crowd. The actress fell to the ground because of the push. Reportedly, Ravi Singh did not allow the actress from entering backstage where Shah Rukh Khan was present despite her having an all-access pass with her. The police, however, did not lodge an FIR against Ravi and let him off with a warning. According to a close aide of Shah Rukh Khan, it was Sharvani who misbehaved with Ravi Singh. India Today
Detained by the Customs Department
In November 2022, the Customs Department, upon receiving intelligence from the Income Tax Air Intelligence Unit, detained Ravi Singh at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai while he was returning to India from Dubai with Shah Rukh Khan. According to a Customs Department official, Ravi Singh was carrying a few luxury watches with him that were worth Rs 17.86 lakhs. Ravi was allowed to leave the airport after he paid Rs 6.88 lakhs as customs duty. During an interview, the Customs official said,
SRK and his team arrived at the GA terminal at around 12.30 pm. Unlike the T2, where there are different colour-coded channels for different types of passengers and their duty-related screenings, the GA terminal has no separate classifications. So the entire team was carrying 6-7 bags which were screened by security and they had several watch winders (specialised cases used for luxury watches) and one Apple watch, which they didn’t have receipts for, as they declared these were gifts. We searched for the value of these items on the internet and we determined everything put together was worth Rs 17.86 lakhs. Ravi Singh, who is from SRK’s security team (Ravi is Shah Rukh Khan’s trusted bodyguard) was escorted with one bag, which had the goods for payment of duty along with one customs officer to Terminal 2. Over there, Ravi paid the customs duty of Rs 6.88 lakhs (calculated as per the customs duty of 38.5 per cent).”
Earlier, several media houses had reported that the Customs Department had arrested Shah Rukh Khan for the watches, however, a Customs official revealed that it was not Shah Rukh Khan, but his bodyguard that was detained. Times Now Talking about it, the Customs official said,
There was no penalty or interception as is being reported by the media. Everything being said on the social media with regards to this case is a total factual mismatch.”
