Sahil Khan was born on Friday, 5 November 1976 (age 47 years; as of 2023) in Kolkata, West Bengal. He was brought up in Delhi. His zodiac sign is Scorpio.

He wanted to win the title of Mr Mumbai, and for that, he started working on his body at a gym in Mumbai under the Indian fitness guru Sachin Dandekar. He was spotted by the Indian cinematographer Sanjay Gupta at a gym, who asked Sahil to work as a model in a music video. Sahil accepted the offer.

Model

Sahil started his career as a model with the Hindi music video “Nachange Saari Raat” (2000) by Stereo Nation.

Actor

He made his debut as an actor with the Hindi film ‘Style’ (2001) in which he played the role of Nehal (Bantu)/Rosa Mary Marlow.

His pairing with the Indian actor Sharman Joshi in the film was liked by the audience, and they were cast together in the 2003 film ‘Xcuse Me.’ He then appeared in a few Hindi films like ‘Yehi Hai Zindagi’ (2005), ‘Double Cross’ (2005), ‘Aladin’ (2009), and ‘Ramaa: The Saviour’ (2010).

Fitness Entrepreneur

In 2014, he started an online fitness training service in Mumbai. He then shifted from Mumbai to Goa, and in February 2016, he started a gym named ‘Muscle ‘n’ Beach’ at Baga Beach, Goa, which is the first Indian gym to be located on a beach. In 2018, Sahil launched a peanut butter brand named MyFitness which gained immense popularity among the consumers. He then launched a few other health & fitness products like Real Mix Energy Drink and BigMuscles Nutrition. In 2018, he started an alkaline fitness water company named Aqua Hunk.

He then started a dietary supplement brand named Divine Nutrition. He owns a chain of gyms named “Life Fitness Gym” across India. In an interview, while talking about starting a chain of gyms and his passion for fitness, Sahil said,

Quality and fitness have always been the relentless mantras that I have followed in everything I have done. Today to be a part of such a prominent event in the world of fitness is a very good and proud feeling for me and the dream of years ago is slowly but surely taking shape. But mark my words, this is only the start, I am not going to rest before doing a lot more solid work and creating a lasting impact on the world of fitness in the world.”

He is CEO of a merchant cash advance provider company named Mother’s EYE Production Private Limited, Mumbai, and owns a company named ‘Sahil Khan Body Transformation.’

Controversies

Sexual Orientation: Row with Ayesha Shroff

In 2009, there were rumours that Sahil was in a relationship with Ayesha Shroff, who is the mother of the Indian actor Tiger Shroff. Sahil who is 17 years younger than Ayesha initially denied the rumours, but later, while talking to the reporters, he said that Ayesha was asking him to return all the gifts she had gifted him earlier. In November 2014, Ayesha filed a cheating case against Sahil for not returning her Rs 8 crore. She also filed a defamation case against Sahil for maligning her image. In February 2015, during the hearings in the court, Sahil Khan’s lawyer submitted intimate photographs of Sahil and Ayesha as proof of their relationship. ^[4]International Business Times In the court, Sahil said that Ayesha asked him to quit a job of Rs 60,000 salary, and when her son Tiger did a hit film, she dumped Sahil. His lawyer said,

Sahil did not give back the gifts, which Ayesha had asked him to buy with the money given by her for an expensive car for her husband, an expensive watch and a pair of diamond earrings. If she is saying that theirs was a business relationship, why did she ask Sahil to buy all this for her?”

In the court, when Ayesha was asked about it, she claimed that Sahil was a gay man, and it was not possible for her to have a relationship with him. Her lawyer said,

The court should not entertain the photographs as they do not concern the matter at hand. Also, if you (the defence) are showing such photos, we need the source as they could be morphed. We need Sahil’s custody so that we can investigate about the cheating, the gifts that he has not given back and about the phone from which the pictures were taken.”

In March 2015, the matter was settled between both parties. The court asked Sahil to apologise to Ayesha Shroff and her family for defaming her image in public. Later, Ayesha withdrew the case she had filed against Sahil. In 2018, the matter came into the media again when Ayesha Shroff was accused of sourcing the call record details of Sahil Khan. According to a leading newspaper,

The two were involved in a dispute and she allegedly sourced the CDR of the actor, and handed it to her counsel Rizwan Siddiqui.”

Fight with Sana Khan’s Rumoured Ex-Boyfriend

In 2014, Sahil Khan had a fight with Ismail Khan, a rumoured ex-boyfriend of the former Indian actress Sana Khan. Earlier, Sahil, Ismail, and Sana decided to start a protein supplement named ‘BB Boss,’ but Sahil made several delays in signing the contract. While Sahil Khan was at the 48 Fitness Gym in Andheri West, Mumbai, Ismail attacked him. ^[5]The Times of India In an interview, while talking about the incident, Sahil said,

I have known him and Sana for a long and was, in fact, about to enter into a business deal with them. Later in the gym, when I was chatting with Sreesanth, Ismail unexpectedly hit me from behind. I was initially taken aback, but soon I started defending myself.”

On the same day, Sahil filed a police complaint against Ismail. In the complaint, he said,

Ismail has a gun and he will kill me. He threatened to throw acid on my face saying that he already has 20 police cases against him and that another one won’t make a difference. He thinks that I am spreading rumours about Sana and him. But it’s all wrong.”

Harassment Case by a Bodybuilder

In 2021, an Indian bodybuilder named Manoj Patil filed a harassment case against Sahil Khan at the Oshiwara Police Station, Mumbai. Reportedly, Sahil has posted many videos on his Instagram account in which he has targeted Manoj and has passed various derogatory comments on Manoj. In one of the Instagram videos, Sahil mocked Manoj and posted a video titled, “Manoj Steroid Wala Kaun hai? Any Idea! Believe it or not. For more watch my story.” Reportedly in 2020, a tiff started between Manoj Patil and Sahil Khan. On 16 September 2021, at around 12:30 am, Manoj attempted suicide by eating some pills, and he was immediately rushed to the Cooper Hospital, Mumbai. A suicide note was recovered from his residence in which he mentioned that the Indian bodybuilder Sahil Khan was responsible for his suicide. ^[6]India Today His suicide note read (originally in Marathi, translated to English),

I am Mr. India Manoj Patil, an Indian sportsperson and represent India in bodybuilding. There is an actor named Sahil Khan, who is targeting me and my nutritionist’s shop through Instagram and social media. Because of this, I and my family have to suffer. I am from a middle-class family. Sahil Khan is jealous of my progress. A lot has been said on social media about me and my business. I have also been given many threats that I will end your career. He has also come under my building, I don’t know what was the reason behind it. I have to go to America to participate in Mr. Olympia, he intends to take advantage of the feud between me and my wife, divert her mind and end my entire career. My family and I have been very upset seeing all this, I am the only earning member of my household, my father is 65 years old retired man and my mother is a housewife. Due to all these circumstances, I am being encouraged to commit suicide, if this continues, I will take some big steps in the coming days, this the responsibility of all this will be of the government, police and Sahil Khan, not only this Sahil Khan Has done the same thing in the past with 2-3 players whose details are also in Oshiwara police station. He further wrote, I am an Indian player and all this is happening to me, so what to expect from the common man.”

While talking to the reporters, Sahil told his side of the story. ^[7]The Times of India He said,

I had met a boy named Raj Faujdar on a social networking site. He’s from Delhi and had made a video that Manoj Patil took Rs 2 lakhs from him and sold him expired steroids after which had developed some heart problems and skin issues as well. Faujdar has all the necessary bills and receipts of financial transactions. He wanted social media support, so I posted his video on my social media platforms asking people to support Faujdar. I also said that the steroids racket should stop. Faujdar had said Manoj Patil was not returning his money and he had even sold his motorcycle to arrange for funds.”

He added,

It is strange that Manoj Patil has not mentioned Faujdar’s name. I have only helped that boy on social media and Patil is directly taking my name and there is no mention of the Faujdar case. All I have done is support the boy and stood against selling steroids, since it’s a crime in our country. What if the guy had died after consuming expired steroids? This could be a publicity stunt with a communal angle. I have had no direct association with Manoj, I have not had any transaction with him either.”

Police case for threatening a woman

The Oshiwara police station in Mumbai registered a case against Sahil Khan in April 2023 under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for defamation, threat, and insulting a woman’s modesty. A 43-year-old gym-goer from suburban Oshiwara named Sahil Khan and a woman she fought with at a gym in February 2023 for threatening and abusing her. ^[8]NDTV
