Rohit Godara Kapurisar is a US-based criminal wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and henchman of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar’s gang. Godara made headlines in connection with the murder of gangster Raju Thehat in 2022 and the murder of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena (SRRKS) chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in 2023.

Rohit Godara, originating from Kapurisar in the Loonkaransar region of Bikaner, stepped into the world of crime when he was 19. Godara has over 32 registered criminal cases across various police stations nationwide. He is associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gang who are notorious for being involved in the killing of the popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022.
Murder of Gangster Raju Thehat
On 3 December 2022, gangster Raju Thehat was shot dead in the Udyog Nagar area of Sikar, Rajasthan near his residence by some unknown miscreants. Rohit Godara claimed responsibility for Theth’s killing, asserting that he sought revenge for the killings of gangster Anand Pal Singh and Balveer Banura. According to sources, there was an ongoing feud between Raju Theth and the Anand Pal gang. Reports indicate that the Anand Pal gang collaborated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to avenge his killing. [1]India Today Anand Pal Singh was killed in a police encounter on 24 June 2017. The event became a rallying point for Rajput outfits as Anand Pal was a cult figure among many Rajput and Ravana Rajput communities. The youth saw him as a defender of Rajputs against the rival Jat community. Moreover, Anandpal gained recognition for his practice of redistributing wealth, giving to the poor and stealing from the rich. This earned him a reputation akin to that of Robin Hood. Hence, the news of his encounter led to violent protests in Rajasthan in which railway tracks were uprooted, public property was damaged, and a person was allegedly killed in police firing.
Murder of SRRKS Chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi
On 5 December 2023, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was fatally shot by three unidentified attackers inside his office-cum-residence at Jaipur’s Shyam Nagar. Despite being rushed to the Metro Mas Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries and died. Following the attack, wanted criminal Rohit Godara Kapurisar openly claimed responsibility for Gogamedi’s murder via a Facebook post which read,
Ram Ram, to all the brothers I am Rohit Godara Kapurisar, Goldie Brar. Brothers, today Sukhdev Gogamedi was murdered. We take full responsibility for this. We have got this murder done. Brothers, I want to tell you that he used to cooperate with our enemies. Used to strengthen them. As far as enemies are concerned, they should keep their funeral bier ready at the doorstep of their house. Will meet them soon too.”

Notably, Godara had previously claimed responsibility for the murder of another gangster Raju Thehat in Sikar, Rajasthan. Godara is associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gang who are notorious for planning the murder of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and issuing death threats to Bollywood celebrity Salman Khan. According to the Facebook post, Godara killed Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi because the latter supported their enemies.

Gogamedi’s murder was captured on the CCTV camera, which showed the two men firing multiple shots at him. Jaipur (south) deputy commissioner of police Yogesh Goyal revealed that the two assailants were identified as Rohit Rathore Makrana from Jaipur and Nitin Fauji from Mahendragarh, Haryana. Meanwhile, some media houses reported that the two assailants were identified as Rohit Singh Shekhawat and Nitin Fauji. [3]The Times of India Reportedly, Nitin Fauji was also in touch with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. In the retaliatory firing, one of Gogamedi’s security personnel Ajit Singh (also spelt as Ajeet Singh) was seriously injured, and one of the assailants Naveen Singh Shekhawat was killed. The other two assailants quickly fled the scene. They stole a two-wheeler from a man named Hemraj on the Kishan Jan Path, attempted a failed car robbery, and then raced through Shyam Nagar, Nirman Nagar, and Rani Sati Nagar. Then the two assailants ultimately boarded an auto-rickshaw from Ajmer Road, leaving a trail of crime. Reportedly, Naveen Singh Shekhawat was an acquaintance of Gogamedi. He brought the assailants to Gogamedi’s house in a car around 1 pm. At first, the guards at the gate stopped the car and refused to let them, but then Naveen made a call to Gogamedi, who then instructed his staff to send the trio to the room where he would routinely meet office-bearers and supporters of his outfit. Other Allegations
Allegations against Godara include running extortion rackets in Rajasthan, demanding 5 to 17 crores from various businessmen in Rajasthan. Two months before Gogamedi’s murder in December 2023, Godara made threat calls to former councillor and businessman Rakesh Bilaspur from Gurgaon. Rakesh allegedly received three extortion calls from Godara demanding Rs 1 crore. The first time Rakesh received the call on October 14, he lodged a police complaint. He claimed that he received a WhatsApp call from a foreign number. In the complaint, Rakesh said that Godara threatened to kill him and his son if he failed to pay up. Apart from that, he allegedly threatened Congress MLA Mukesh Bhakar from Ladnu in Nagaur, demanding extortion money and issuing death threats over the phone. The police issued a red corner notice against him and also placed a reward of 1 lakh for information leading to his arrest. Godara is also linked to Sidhu Moose Wala‘s killing on 29 May 2022. Interestingly, Godara escaped from the police fleeing from Delhi to Dubai on 13 June 2022 using a fake passport with the name Pawan Kumar. [5]Zee News According to sources, the Bolero car which was used by the shooters in carrying out Moosewala’s murder was purchased from Aditya, a resident of Fatehpur, in February 2022. Thereafter, Godara purchased this car through his henchman Mahendra Saharan following which it was handed over to Arshad, who then provided the car to Moosewla’s shooters. Rohit also had a hand in giving shelter and a grenade to Deepak Tinu, an accused in Sidhu Moosewala murder’s, while he was absconding. At that time, Rohit was operating from Azerbaijan.
