His father, Kabir Bedi, is an Indian actor. His mother, Susan Humphreys (aka Ixchel Leigh), owns a beauty, cosmetic & personal care label. In 1990, his parents got divorced. His father’s first wife Protima Bedi was a model and Odissi dancer. After getting divorced from his mother, his father got married to Nikki Bedi, and later to Parveen Dusanj. His mother is married to an American speaker and author David Rasch.

The Indian actress, television host, and newspaper columnist Pooja Bedi is his half-sister from his stepmother Protima Bedi. His half-brother Siddharth Bedi (from his stepmother Protima Bedi) committed suicide in 1997.

In 2009, Adam got married to the former Indian model and ramp show choreographer Nisha Harale. The couple dated for almost seven years, before tying the knot with each other. However, in 2013, the couple got divorced.

In 2015, Adam took to his Instagram account to share the news of his second marriage with the American hair and makeup artist Melissa. The couple had a white wedding on 12 December 2015.
