She did her schooling at Mumbai’s Bombay International School and went to St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai to pursue her graduation. Hindustan Times Anaita was obsessed with fashion from a very young age. While in college, she used to spend all her pocket money to buy magazines like Vogue and Seventeen. She often ended up cutting out fashion prints from the magazines and pasting them in her file. After completing her graduation, Anaita worked briefly with the director and producer Mahesh Mathai. However, she didn’t enjoyed the work and decided to take a travelling break. While travelling, she used to observe people’s dressing styles. When she returned from her holiday in London, she bagged an offer to work with the fashion magazine “Elle.”

Anaita started her career as an assistant fashion editor in 1996 with the Elle magazine. She then worked at the french magazine L’Officiel India as a fashion editor for a while. Subsequently, she joined Vogue India as a fashion director.
She is the founder and owner of the Style Cell Company, a fashion and styling ensemble. She began styling the looks of celebrities for films in 2001 with the film “Everybody Says I’m Fine!.” Subsequently, she styled the looks of John Abraham and Esha Deol for the Bollywood film “Dhoom” (2004) and gained immense popularity.
Adjania is known for her design work in Bollywood films like “Being Cyrus” (2006), “Dhoom 2” (2006), “Love Aaj Kal” (2009), “Cocktail” (2012), and “Bang Bang” (2014).
Her designs have been featured in several popular magazines like “Vogue,” “L’Officiel,” “Rolling Stone,” and “Elle.”
Presently, she is working as the fashion stylist (as of 2021) of the Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. She exclusively style Deepika’s looks for all the events.
As an Actress
Anaita Shroff Adjania made her acting debut in 1995 with the Bollywood film “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” in which she played the role of ‘Sheena’ (Simran’s friend).
She then played the role of ‘Gita’ (Rohit’s friend) in the Bollywood film “Kal Ho Naa Ho” (2003).
In 2020, Anaita was accused by the Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut for using her pictures in the fashion magazine “Vogue India” even after banning her. A tweet from Kangana’s team, Team Kangana Ranaut, read,

Karan and I knew each other from our college days. We were not from the same college, but we would take part in college fashion shows. He was the head choreographer, the ultimate style consultant. When he was assisting Adi in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, he asked me to cast Kajol’s friends in the film, who go on the Eurorail trip with her. I couldn’t get one of them, so Adi asked me to step in. So you see me in a bit role in DDLJ!”
