Facts/Trivia

  • In 1995, Avinash Pande compiled and coordinated the book Shabd Swar Ke Sumeru, a book based on the life of Rashtra Kavi Pradeep. In 2007, he compiled and coordinated the book Ek Deep Kavi Pradeep.
  • In August 2020, when Avinash Pande was in charge of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) in Rajasthan, the Congress party decided to form a three-member committee, due to Sachin Pilot‘s rebellious behaviour, that was responsible for examining the concerns expressed by Pilot and the other rebel MLAs of Rajasthan and finding a suitable solution. Gehlot and Pilot were in a conflict over the PCC Chief position because the Gehlot Camp wanted Rajasthan to adopt the “One Leader One Post” model, whereas Sachin Pilot held the post of Deputy CM in addition to leading the PCC. In an interview, Avinash Pande, while talking about the infighting in Congress, said,

This conspiracy has been hatched by BJP and they have been trying this for one year. I can say that all Rajasthan Congress MLAs will work together and Congress government in Rajasthan will complete its five years of tenure. Congress is strongly working together. All MLAs have trust and faith in the party and CM Ashok Gehlot. BJP is deliberately diverting the present situation”

Sachin Pilot had alleged that Avinash Pande worked in accordance with Ashok Gehlot‘s interests. Later, as per a solution recommended by the appointed committee, Avinash Pande was replaced by the Congress senior leader Ajay Maken as the All India Congress Committee (AICC) in charge of Rajasthan following a month-long dispute between the Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot.
