After completing her formal education, Akanksha Sharma shifted to Mumbai, where she started working as a model. Throughout her career as a model, she has appeared in numerous advertisements for renowned brands such as Cadbury and TVC. Her popularity increased after she was chosen to be featured in the commercial for Santoor; she was featured in the ad for the brand alongside Varun Dhawan in the Hindi version, Mahesh Babu in the Telugu version, and Karthi Sivakumar in the Tamil version.
