Aditya Seal and his girlfriend Anushka Ranjan were in a relationship for more than 4 years before getting engaged to each other on 17 November 2021. The couple had a very intimate engagement party with just a few close friends at their residence in Mumbai. Later on 21 November 2001, the couple had a star-studded wedding ceremony in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The guest list had some of the big names of Bollywood including Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Vaani Kapoor, Athiya Shetty, Sussanne Khan, Krystle D’Souza, and many more.

Aditya Seal proposed to Anushka for a wedding in Paris in October 2019 but the wedding couldn’t happen because of the Covid 19 pandemic. Talking about the bond with his lady love, Aditya said,

We connected very well in the first meeting itself, but I was hesitant to ask her out. I felt she was too cool for me. Gradually, I realised that Anushka is a very evolved lady, independent and has a deeper understanding of situations and people more than I do. She can get someone to open up easily, and I find that ability very heartwarming. But, when we started meeting regularly, we realised that we connected as people and we both genuinely liked each other.”

Career

Aditya Seal started his acting career at the age of 14 with the Indian romantic film “Ek Chhotisi Love Story” opposite Manisha Koirala in 2002. Aditya portrayed the character of a teenager who started feeling for a lady living in his neighbourhood. The film was directed and produced by Shashilal K. Nair and was released on 13 September 2002. The film made headlines soon after the release as it featured some adult content that was not accepted by a huge fraction of the audience in India. The women’s wing of Shiv Sena set fire to the posters of the controversial film at a theatre and also stopped its screening, in protest against objectionable scenes portraying actress Manisha Koirala in a bad light. The film as well as the cast received a huge backlash. According to sources, most of the erotic and sensational scenes in “Ek Chhotisi Love Story” were done by Aditya’s body double. Aditya Seal, during a media interaction revealed that he was totally unaware of the story that he played and became part of. He said,

I had no idea about the film. We shot it differently. I had separate shots, the action was shot separately. They just made it look like I was watching everything, but I had no idea what was happening. The first time I saw the film was in Gaiety Galaxy. We had a premiere over there and it was me sitting in between with my mom, dad, grandmom and granddad, and we witnessed the magic altogether.”

He further added,

Honestly, I didn’t realise what happened at that time because I was immature, a late bloomer and didn’t know what was happening. I think my parents freaked, but they didn’t speak anything in front of me, but I heard them saying, “Yeh kya karwa diya“.”

In one of his interviews, Aditya also mentioned that when he met Anil Kapoor post the release of “Ek Chhotisi Love Story,” he also talked to him in a very not so usual tone. He narrated,

I once met Anil Kapoor and shyly told him that I’m a huge fan. Since he has worked with Manishaji, I thought I should tell him that I have also done a film with her. When I told him about ‘Ek Chhotisi Love Story,’ he said, ‘You’re that guy!’, in his usual excited tone.”

After the huge controversy of “Ek Chhotisi Love Story” and doing a small supporting role in Jaidev Chakraborty’s comedy-drama film “We R Friends,” Aditya Seal decided to take a break from acting and concentrated on his studies. He made his comeback in the year 2014, with a Hindi-language coming-of-age drama film “Purani Jeans.” Aditya portrayed the character of a Samuel Joseph Lawrence aka Sam opposite Tanuj Virwani, Izabelle Leite, Param Baidwaan, Raghav Raj Kakker, and Kashyap Kapoor. Next in 2016, he made his on-screen appearance in Anubhav Sinha written and directed the romantic drama film “Tum Bin II.” The film featured Aditya Seal, Aashim Gulati, Neha Sharma, Kanwaljit Singh, and Meher Vij in lead roles. Aditya gained huge popularity for his performance in the film.

Aditya Seal rose to fame after he became part of the Dharma Productions teen romantic comedy-drama film “Student of the Year 2.” The film was written by Arshad Sayed and directed by Punit Malhotra and was co-produced by Karan Johar, Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta. Aditya Seal played the character of Manav Singh Randhawa, Spoiled child opposite Tara Sutaria, Ananya Panday, and Tiger Shroff. After the success of the film Aditya gained opportunities to work with renowned filmmakers of Bollywood.

In 2020, he played Kiara Advani’s character’s love interest in “Indoo Ki Jawani,” a dramedy revolving around a girl’s adventures with a dating app. The movie was theatrically released on 11 December 2020 amid the 50% occupancy theatrical guideline owing to the COVID-19 pandemic in India.

• Aditya Seal was very optimistic to build a career in cricket in childhood but due to a knee injury, he had to let go of his dream of becoming a cricketer and pursue acting. It wasn’t exactly any injury but a situation where a bone on his knee just popped out randomly after his height shot up.
