Vaibhav Gupta is an Indian singer who is known for being the winner of season 14 of the singing reality show Indian Idol in 2024.

Vaibhav Gupta was born in 2024 (age 20 years; as of 2024) in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He did his schooling at Mantora Public School, Kalyanpur, Kanpur. He took admission to Christ Church College, Kanpur. Since childhood, he liked singing a lot. When he was in school, he used to take classical music training. He was a bright student and was the head boy in school. According to him, his father wanted him to pursue engineering but due to his interest in music, Vaibhav decided to pursue a career in singing.

Vaibhav’s father’s name is Vishnu Gupta, who is a businessman.

His mother separated from his father when he was young. His father married again. He has a real brother and a step-brother named Anubhav Gupta.

In 2017, he became the winner of the ‘Kanpur Got Talent’ show.

He participated in a singing competition at the digital-cultural fest ‘Ignitia -18,’ held at PSIT, Kanpur and won it.

He won the KSS Inter School Solo Singing competition in 2020.

He won Radiocity Super Singer season 14 in 2020.

Indian Idol

In 2023, he participated in the singing reality TV show Indian Idol Season 14 on Sony TV.

 

He was announced as the winner of the show on 3 March 2004. He won prize money of Rs. 25 lakh and a Maruti Suzuki Brezza car.

He received a lot of appreciation from all the guests on the show including Mahesh Bhatt, singer Sukhwinder Singh, and Hrithik Roshan. He received the best compliment from guest Karisma Kapoor who said that Vaibhav reminded her of Shammi Kapoor. In one of the episodes, judge Shreya Ghoshal appreciated his journey on the show and wished him the best. She described his journey as remarkable, consistent, and inspiring.

•  When he was young, his mother got separated from his father which led to a lot of mental stress for him. In an interview, he mentioned that his father was always there for him and helped him deal with the stress.

• Before becoming part of the show Indian Idol, he was rejected many times, but he kept a lot of patience to deal with it. In an interview, he said,
  

  I never cried because of rejections, failures, or setbacks. I kept it all inside and that gradually became an intense fire to achieve my goals. I am a big Mahadev believer and I used to always end up at temples and talk it out with God and feel a sense of calmness and reassurance that things would work out one day. And I’m glad it happened today.”

• According to him, he wants to do playback singing in Bollywood. In an interview, he added that he wanted to become a playback singer for actors Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and Ranveer Singh.
• In an interview, he said that he would make his dream studio with the winning amount from the show Indian Idol so that he can make music that he likes. In the interview, he said,
  

  With the prize money that I’ve won from the show, I wish to make my studio where I can record the songs and make many other tracks to entertain the viewers. I can’t wait to do the same and get the feedback of my fans. My viewers and fans have always supported me and I wish I could always manage to entertain them. Having a studio has always been a dream and with the prize money, I can smoothly attain the same.”
