Facts/Trivia
- She froze her eggs when she was 39 years old. In an interview, while talking about freezing her eggs, she said,
I wanted to freeze my eggs at the age of 33! At that time, when I went to my doctor (who finally froze my eggs now)… it is funny but she stopped me from doing so at that time. While she told me it takes a toll on your body, she advised I should do it when I have no hope of conceiving a baby. It’s a personal choice. And today, it is perfectly ok to not have children. Adopt, there’s enough in this world.” [12]The Times of India
- She is an animal lover.
- In 2019, Tanishaa faced a racist attack in New York when she went to the US to attend the CRY America charity gala. After the gala, she went to a nightclub with her friends, where a man allegedly made inappropriate remarks. In an interview, she talked about the incident and said,
I don’t understand what triggered it as I was polite, but he turned rude. One of the employees, an African-American, said that we looked as if we were fresh off the boat and couldn’t speak English. That was insulting and blatantly racist. My friends and I were shocked. It’s traumatic to experience this kind of racism in the US; I have never faced it earlier. I told them to call the cops, but they refused to do so.” [13]Hindustan Times
- In an interview, when she was asked about whether she always wanted to be an actress or if she had other aspirations, she replied,
Honestly, I did have other aspirations. I wanted to be a veterinarian because I absolutely love animals But the problem was that I could not handle looking at injured animals, so my mom told me I could not be a vet like this. So that killed my dream (laughs). In the middle, I had this huge dream of becoming a businesswoman. However, I didn’t know what business to do. So I had quite some aspirations, but acting was always my passion.” [14]The Times of India
- Apart from being an actress, she is also an environmentalist. She owns an NGO named Stamp Foundation.
- Being a fitness enthusiast, she is often spotted working out at a gym.
- In an interview, while talking about her acting career, which did not turn out the way she envisioned, she said,
I wore every stone, consulted every astrologer, and did every puja possible (laughs!). I was so young, and when someone would tell me, ‘Achha, yeh pehen lo, it will be good for you,’ I would do it. I realised It doesn’t work like that. I did whatever I needed to for my career. I even went to meet directors, but I guess that worked against me. I think they would be embarrassed about me meeting them because those were different times. Also, it puts you in the negative light, ‘ki iske paas kaam nahi hai.’ Breaking through a traditional mindset is difficult.” [15]The Times of India
