Controversy

Loss due to promises made during the election campaign

In 2019, a notice was issued against Rajendra regarding a promise he made during the 2013 assembly elections. Rajendra assured that he would allocate houses to the displaced individuals of Rani Talab and Chuna Bhatta in Rathara and Rathari under the Integrated Housing and Slum Development Program (IHSDP) scheme. However, since the Corporation Commissioner did not provide any houses under the program, Rajendra distributed pamphlets about it. This led the displaced families to occupy the houses without depositing the required margin money of Rs. 15,000. According to the notice, due to an informal agreement between the recipients and Rajendra, Rewa Municipal Corporation suffered a financial setback of Rs. 4.94 crore, including an interest of Rs. 1.53 crore. The notice demanded repayment, and Corporation Commissioner Sabhajit Yadav also wrote a letter to Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department Sanjay Dubey regarding this matter.
