Doctor
After completing his formal education, Kavvampally Satyanarayana began practising medicine in Andhra Pradesh and later in Telangana (after its formation in 2014). He has served as a general surgeon in the Guru Nanak Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital in Hyderabad. He, along with his wife Anuradha, is the founder of Ankith Multi Speciality Hospital in Hyderabad. He is also a laparoscopy and endoscopy specialist. Apart from serving as a doctor, he has also served as an assistant professor of surgery in Andhra Pradesh.
Politics
In 2009, he contested the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections from the Manakondur constituency, reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates, on the Praja Rajyam Party’s ticket. He, however, lost the elections to Arepalli Mohan, an Indian National Congress (INC) candidate. He later left PRAP and became a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and contested the 2014 Telangana state elections from the Manakondur constituency. In the elections, he was defeated by a Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) candidate named Rasamayi Balakishan.
Thereafter, he left the TDP and joined the INC. He was later appointed as the District Congress Committee (DCC) of Karimnagar. On INC’s ticket, Kavvampally contested the 2023 Telangana Legislative Assembly elections and emerged victorious over his nearest rival Erupula Balakishan, a BRS candidate, by a margin of 32,365 votes.
