Career

District-level Championships

When he was fourteen years old, his school sports coach told him to participate in the kabaddi team for district tournaments. He then started playing kabaddi at district-level kabaddi championships. Later, he joined the GS Kabaddi Academy in Khurja to receive professional training in kabaddi and also began representing his school in inter-school competitions. Later, he was selected for the kabaddi team to represent the Uttar Pradesh state after performing well in the district-level kabaddi championships.

National Championships

Abhishek played for the Uttar Pradesh team in the men’s kabaddi competition at the ’36th National Games Gujarat 2022′ held in Ahmedabad.

Pro Kabaddi League (PKL)

Abhishek Singh was bought by U Mumba for Rs. 42.80 Lakh in the 6th season of PKL and was kept on the team for the 7th season. In his debut season, he got a total of 53 tackle points in 5 matches, including 2 Super 10s. Abhishek gained national recognition for his performance in the 7th season of PKL. He scored 162 raid points in 21 matches, achieving 10 Super 10s. Abhishek continued to play for the team in the 8th season of the Pro Kabaddi League in 2021. In the 9th season, he played for the Telugu Titans.

In 2023, Abhishek Thakur was acquired by Bengaluru Bulls in the tenth season of PKL.
