His father, Aram Singh, is working as A.S.I. in the Haryana police. His mother’s name is Sushma. His brother, Nitesh Narwat, is a businessman.
Career
In 2010, he joined Dronacharya Boxing Club in Faridabad, Haryana to start his training in kickboxing. However, his coaches Rajiv Godara and Jai Bhagwan advised him to continue his training in boxing as well.
He then started his training in boxing and won various medals at district-level boxing competitions. Sagar won a bronze medal at Haryana Professional Boxing Competition (2013) and won one more bronze medal at the 48th Senior Men Haryana State Boxing Championship. In 2016, he received the Best Boxer Award along with a gold medal at the International Rural Boxing Championship. Sagar has won various boxing championships like The Punch Boxing Series, Pro Boxing Fight Night, and Super Boxing League. He has also played for OPM Punjab Sultan in the Super Boxing League Season 1 (2017).
On 13 October 2017, in his first international tournament, he was given the title of Iron Man after he defeated the Philippines boxer Jun Maamo in the Philippines Bakbakan Saadlaw San Calbayog International Championship. He received the title of WBC Asia Continental at The Punch 7 boxing competition (2021). During an interview, while talking about the fight, he said that it was the biggest fight of his life. On his victory, the owner of ‘The Punch Boxing’ Arif Khan said,
Sagar is very hardworking and disciplined. He has progressed in every fight and finally, he is here.”
Sagar has participated in various Super Boxing Leagues. In an interview, while sharing his experience in Super Boxing Leagues, he said,
During my tenure with SBL, one of my fights was against a great Army boxer who had won a lot of professional matches in the past while I was a complete nobody at the time. After dodging his massive swings and throwing timely punches while constantly trying to calm my nerves, I was finally able to beat him. That is when I got the name ‘The Sher.’ I love this name that the boxing brethren has given me and I hope to continue to do justice to it in the future.”
His stance in the game is orthodox, and he participates in the super welterweight competitions.

- He got a tattoo of his surname”Narwat” inked on his right tricep.
- One of his favourite boxers is Floyd Mayweather Jr.
- He started a boxing training and fitness centre Sagar Narwat Boxing & Fitness Club in 2018. During an interview, while talking about his boxing centre, he said,
In my village, there is no proper conveyance so going to other towns to learn is a problem. People may not have many facilities, but the talent is immense here.”
- In 2021, he was featured in the Hindi music video ‘Changa’ which was released on the YouTube channel Big Bang Music.
- Every year on 4 June, he pays his tribute to a martyred soldier Yashpal Singh Narwat. Yashpal was martyred in a terrorist attack on 4 June 2001 in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir.
