Forged Experience Certificate
According to the reports, Vidya submitted the forged experience documents and certificates while giving the job interview for the position of guest lecturer at the Malayalam Department of the RGM Government College of Attappady in Palakkad district on 2 June 2023. On Wednesday 7 June 2023, the matter gained public attention when the RGM college authorities sent the experience certificate of Vidya to the principal of Maharaja’s college when they developed doubts related to the authenticity of the certificates. According to reports, Vidya had previously worked at Karinthalam College in Kasaragod from June 2022 to March 2023, utilizing the same forged certificate. The case gained media coverage when another controversy involved PM Arsho, the State Secretary of SFI (Students Federation of India). It was revealed that Arsho’s mark sheet indicated that he had passed exams at Maharaja’s College without actually taking them. Arsho, an MA Archaeology student, clarified that he had not written any papers during the third-semester exams, which led to the allegations against him. The authorities of Maharaja College concluded that it was due to a software error at the National Informatics Centre (NIC). The principal of Maharaja College confirmed that Vidya has produced forged documents in the name of the college and confirmed that they have not employed a single person as guest faculty in the Malayalam department for the last 10 years. On this, the authorities of the Maharaja College filed a complaint against Vidya. Ernakulam Central police filed a case against Vidya on the petition filed by the authorities of the Maharaja College where Vidya had been using forged experience documents, stating that she had worked as an assistant professor on a contractual basis in the college from June 2018 to March 2019 and from June 2020 to March 2021.

According to the FIR reports, the charges registered are Sections 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), and 471 (using a document or electronic record knowing that it is forged) of the Indian Penal Code. On Wednesday 21 June 2023, the police took Vidya into custody from Meppayur in Kozhikode. Vidya was taken from her friend’s house in Meppayur around 7 pm. Manipulation of the Reservation Roster
As per the reports, it is found that Kalady Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University’s SC/ST cell regarding K Vidya’s PhD admission indicates that the reservation roster was manipulated during the admission process in 2020. The reports also showed the intervention of the vice-chancellor’s office in the matter. Due to this, Dr Bichu Malayil stepped back from the academic association with K Vidya during the course of her PhD at the university unless Vidya proves herself innocent. Out of all the candidates shortlisted for the job, Vidya secured the top rank while Rasitha secure the second.
