Shapoor Pallonji Mistry was born in 1964 (age 59 years; as of 2023) in Bombay, Maharastra, India. (now Mumbai). He grew up in an Irish Parsi family, whose forefathers migrated from Vesu, Gujarat to Mumbai. After receiving his formal education, Shapoor Mistry got involved in his family business Shapoorji Pallonji Group.

Laila is married to Rustom Jehangir who is a portfolio fund manager in London and Aloo is married to Noel Tata, who is the half-brother of Ratan Tata.

Shapoor Mistry began his career by joining his family company Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Ltd. He looked after the real estate, electromechanical, Forbes group, and Eureka Forbes.

He became the chairman of the 157-year-old engineering and construction conglomerate Shapoorji Pallonji Group and was responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operations of the group’s various businesses. Moreover, he has been involved in numerous significant projects in India and abroad. His younger brother Cyrus Mistry served as a chairman of Tata Sons for about four years and after that, Shapoor took charge of the $2 billion construction conglomerate SP group.
