Facts/Trivia

  • When he was in school, he enjoyed watching plays and would often wonder how the actors could make them more impactful. One day, while he was in college, there was an announcement for auditions for people who wanted to act. One of his friends asked him to accompany him to the auditions. The casting team selected him because of his voice. They asked him to read a short news segment that lasted 20 seconds in the play. Interestingly, Irshad Kamil, a famous songwriter who was also his fellow student, was part of the play as well. One of his classmates, who had the main role in a play, had to go somewhere to apply for further studies. He was asked to fill in for his classmate as a proxy. Eventually, his classmate went to a college in Russia. He took on the lead role, and the play ended up winning several awards. After that, he continued to participate in more plays during his college days.
  • In an interview, Nissar Khan shared that his role as a police officer in Crime Patrol became so popular that people started recognising him as a real police officer. While sharing an incident, he said,

One person asked me to help him vacate his shop from a difficult occupant. A lady came home and asked me to convince her alcoholic husband to quit drinking. I told her I ‘act’ as a policeman, I am not one. She still insisted I talk to her husband. Then, once were shooting in Jaipur, when a real cop came to me and said, “We’ve started enjoying respect in society because of the show. People now believe there are honest cops too. You’re like what Arun Govil (Ramayana) was – an idol!”

  • In his leisure time, he loves to read books and travel to different places.
