Jerry Choudhary, born Ashish Choudhary, is an Indian environmentalist and cyclist who is popular for his cycle tours to spread environmental awareness.

Jerry Choudhary was born on 30 March 1996 (age 27 years; as of 2023) in Budania village of Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan, India. His zodiac sign is Aries. Jerry completed his school education in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. He then pursued a bachelor of arts in English at Ramlal Anand College of Delhi University, New Delhi.

Career

Environmentalist and Cyclist

Jerry started his first cycle tour on 3 November 2021 from Laal Chowk, Kashmir, which ended on 5 January 2022 in Kanyakumari. During this 4000 km journey, Jerry crossed various states including Punjab, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka; his expedition was supported by an NGO Akhil Bhartiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan.

In an interview, Jerry discussed the hurdles he faced during his travel. He said,

During the journey, he faced the chilled winters of Kashmir as well as the rains of south. The biggest problem was language and food. Many states came where they could not understand my language and I could not understand theirs. There was also a problem of food in many places.” ^[1]Dainik Bhaskar

Jerry is on a mission to promote environmental awareness, especially discouraging the use of plastics by talking to students of schools and educational institutions in the states and countries he is visiting.

On 18th January 2022, he started a second cycle tour from Delhi to Rajasthan which was about 1500 km of distance; Rajasthan Tourism Department sponsored this tour. Jerry crossed seven cities of Rajasthan and promoted tourist places along with environmental awareness. Apart from this, he cycled from Delhi to Jhunjhunu and Jhunjhunu to Khatu Shyam Ji.

In October 2022, he started his longest cycle tour, from India to Singapore. He started it from Dwarkadhish, Gujarat; he crossed four countries, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand to reach Singapore and covered around 8000 km of distance in three months. Jerry is not only vocal about the environmental issues but he also proposes the solution. He shared his experience of Amsterdam where the government built cycle tracks for the people.

Vlogger

Jerry shoots videos of the places he visits and promotes tourism and culture. He has a Youtube channel, Jerry Choudhary, where he uploads his vlogs and tour updates. Apart from this, Jerry appeared in a Bhojpuri song, Chhup Ja Re Chanda, produced by Global Bhojpurians.

• Jerry is inspired by Todd Raile, a cyclist and environmentalist from Canada. Jerry met Todd when he was on a cycle tour of India.
