Mona Shourie Kapoor was the first wife of Bollywood film producer, Boney Kapoor and was the daughter of Sattee Shourie (film producer).

Mona was born in Delhi, India on 3 February 1964. Her mother, Sattee Shourie who was a film producer for Indian cinema.

Mona was the exclusive part of Indian film industry, she was the CEO of Future Studios- the largest ready-to-shoot (indoor shooting studio) situated in Mumbai. She actually did miscellaneous jobs; she handled the manpower as the business partner for ‘Business Aids’ & ‘Machine Exports’ and as a director of FCL, she was the production coordinator for the films ‘Sheesha’.

Even after separation from the film producer, Boney Kapoor, in 1996, she continued to live with her in-laws. She lived there with her two children, Arjun Kapoor who is an actor, and a daughter until she died on March 25, 2012.

Career

She was the CEO of Future Studios- the largest ready-to-shoot (indoor shooting studio) situated in Mumbai. She actually did miscellaneous jobs; she handled the manpower as the business partner for ‘Business Aids’ & ‘Machine Exports’ and as a director of FCL, she was the production coordinator for the films ‘Sheesha’.

She even produced some TV series such as Hera Pheri (on Star Plus), Yug (on Doordarshan), Wilayatee Babu (on Doordarshan) and Kaise Kahoon (Zee TV). Among these shows, TV show- Yug, was quite critically acclaimed.

In the year 2005, she also served as a Jury Member of the Indian Telly Awards.

  • As per her neighbours and relatives, Mona was a very humble, polite, and a positive lady.
  • She was detected with stage 3 cancer and was getting treated at Hinduja Hospital.
  • She died just after her son, Arjun Kapoor’s debut film was released.
