Lara McDonnell was born on Friday, November 7, 2003 (age 16 Years; as in 2020), and hails from Dublin, Ireland. Since childhood, she was very passionate about acting. Lara was just eleven years old when she performed the role of ‘Matilda,’ in the musical theatre play ‘Matilda.’ She frequently travels to the United States of America and England for work due to which she is being homeschooled.

Although Lara McDonnell hasn’t revealed anything about her family, in an interview after the release of ‘Artemis Fowl,’ she said,
My family were so lovely. They made quite a big affair of it. We all dressed up and sat down to watch the film together. The next night my younger brother and sister wanted to watch it again, so we did’.
Lara started off her career in acting by playing the role of ‘Matilda’ in ‘Matilda,’ a celebrated musical theatre play, for the Royal Shakespeare Company, in the West End. Later, in 2014, she appeared as ‘Young Rosie’ in the film ‘Love, Rosie,’ a romantic comedy.
Her other works include the role of ‘Young Anne’ in ‘To Walk Invisible: The Bronte Sisters (2016),’ and the role of ‘Alannah’ in ‘The Delinquent Season (2018).’ In 2020, she played the character of ‘Captain Holly Short’ in the Disney science fantasy adventure movie ‘Artemis Fowl,’ which gave her the instant stardom.
