In 2021, she released her second album ‘Kongmuni.’ She had appeared on many radio shows, singing reality TV and variety shows such as SBS’s ‘The Trot Show,’ KBS1’s ‘AM Plaza,’ MBC TV’s variety show ‘Hangout with Yoo,’ and ‘Gayo Stage.’

 

She became a household name after she began to perform at KBS’s popular music TV show ‘Immortal Songs 2’ in 2023.

Death

Haesoo died in her dorm room in South Korea on 12 May 2023. [3]Soompi On 13 May 2023, the police found out that Haesoo committed suicide as she left a handwritten suicide note behind. The news of her death was announced on 15 May 2023, as the investigation and identification process of the dead body was not complete. The initial reports mentioned that she was found dead at her dormitory; however, some reports that came later mentioned that she was in a hotel room. [4]Hindustan Times

Facts/Trivia

  • Haesoo developed an interest in trot music, a popular music genre in South Korea, after she got influenced by the South Korean singer Joo Hyun-mi.
  • Before her death, she was scheduled to perform at Gwanjumyeon People’s Day event in Wanju Gun, Jeollabuk-do on 20 May 2023; however, the show had to be cancelled after the news of her demise.
  • She followed a non-vegetarian diet.
