Ankit’s grandmother met Pallavi in 2017 when she was travelling in a train from Kanpur to Delhi, and after a normal conversation, she found Pallavi to be an ideal match for her grandson, Ankit. Subsequently, he got married to Pallavi Shukla, a mechanical engineer on 23 February 2018. The couple is blessed with a baby girl, Aryaa Tiwari.

Career

His first job was at a radio station ‘Radio Chaska’ in Gwalior, as a production head. In 2008, he moved to Mumbai along with his brother to try his luck as a playback singer. Ankit and his brother stayed in Mumbai with Anuj Kumar, who worked in Virar as a cameraman. Ankit used to compose jingles for the TV commercials at the beginning of his career. He got his first break in the film “Do Dooni Chaar” (2010), as a music composer. His first song as a singer in the Bollywood film was ‘Saheb Bada Hathila’ from Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster (2011), but he failed to get recognition.

Later, Mahesh Bhatt heard him singing and asked him to lent his voice for a song “Sunn Raha Hai” in ‘Aashiqui 2’ (2013), and this song was a chartbuster. He has lent his voice for more chartbuster songs including ‘Tu Hai Ki Nahi’ from Roy (2015), ‘Dil Cheez Tujhe Dedi’ from Airlift (2016), ‘Tere Liye’ from Sanam Re (2016). He has worked as a music director in Bollywood films like “PK” (2014), “Khamoshiyan” (2015), “Tum Bin 2” (2016), and “Sadak 2” (2020). He has featured in the music videos like ‘Badtameez’ (2016), ‘Mehbooba’ (2018), and ‘Tere Do Naina’ (2019).

 

Controversies

  • Ankit was arrested in Versova, Mumbai on 8 May 2014; as a complaint was filed in the police station by his girlfriend for allegedly raping her with the fake promise of marriage. She also filed a complaint against Ankit’s brother for threatening her. The complainee failed to prove Ankit and his brother guilty, and they were released from all the charges by the Court in April 2017. [2]Indian Express
  • In July 2018, cricketer Vinod Kambli and his wife assaulted Ankit Tiwari’s father for misconducting with Kambli’s wife in a mall in Mumbai. Later, all the allegations turned out to be false when CCTV footage of the mall was checked.
