Alice Rose Capsey was born on Wednesday, 11 August 2004 (age 18 years, as of 2022) in Redhill, Surrey, England. Her zodiac sign is Leo. She started playing cricket at six with her brothers at the Capel Cricket Club in Dorking, Surrey. She soon impressed the selectors and later participated in the county trials for Surrey Women’s team. Capsey was selected for the Surrey Under-11 team at the age of eight and went on to represent different age groups of the team. She studied at the Belmont School in Dorking, Surrey, England. In 2017, she joined Lancing College, Lancing, East Sussex, England. In 2021, Capsey completed her sixth form (secondary education) at Bede’s Senior School, Eastbourne, East Sussex, England. She was named to the Surrey Under-17 Women’s team for the Under-17 County Cup. On 2 June 2019, she made her senior debut for the Surrey Women’s team in the Women’s County Championship at the age of 14; she took a three-wicket haul against the Hampshire Women in her debut match. Seven days later, she played her first T20 match for Surrey Women’s team in the Vitality Women’s Twenty20 Cup 2019 (Division One); Alice bowled four overs and took two wickets at an economy of 5.00. In November 2019, the England Women’s team named Capsey to the list of players selected for the England Women’s Academy (EWA) for the 2019-2020 season. The cricketer played in four more T20 matches before her 15th birthday; she took 7 wickets at an economy of 6.13 between June 2019 and January 2020.

On 22 July 2020, she was named to the playing eleven of the Surrey Women’s team for the 2020 Women’s London Cup; she scored 17 runs from 21 balls and Surrey defeated Middlesex and won their maiden trophy. In August 2020, she was named to the South East Stars team for the 2020 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. On 13 September 2020, she scored 73 runs (not out) from 75 balls and bowled ten overs at an economy of 3.50 against the Sunrisers team; she was named the player of the match. The cricketer finished the competition (2020 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy) with 141 runs from six matches with an average of 28.20 and took two wickets at an economy of 4.17; she was South East Stars’ top scorer in the competition. She took a three-wicket haul and scored 14 runs against the Central Sparks team on 3 July 2021 in the Charlotte Edwards Cup. On 28 August 2021, Alice scored 61 runs from 46 balls and took two wickets against the Southern Vipers. South East Stars beat the Northern Diamonds team in the final of the 2021 Charlotte Edwards Cup on 5 September 2021 and she scored 40 runs (not out) from 26 balls and bowled four overs at an economy of 7.50; she was named the player of the match. The cricketer scored 203 runs from six matches with an average of 40.60 and took seven wickets at an economy of 5.83; she was the fourth-highest run-scorer in the 2021 Charlotte Edwards Cup. In December 2021, the cricketer was named to the England A Women’s team for the tour of Australia in January 2022; this was the first time she was named to the England A team. On 20 January 2022, she scored 44 runs from 31 balls against the Australia A Women in the opening T20 match of the series; she played in all three T20 matches and was named to the playing eleven for two ODI matches of the series. On 22 July 2022, she was named to the playing eleven of the Surrey Women’s team for the 2022 Women’s London Cup and took three wickets; Surrey beat Middlesex by nine wickets and won their second title. In the 2022 Women’s Twenty20 Cup, she played three matches for the Surrey Women’s team and scored 41 runs and took six wickets at an economy of 6.16. In April 2023, the cricketer was named to the South East Stars team for the 2023 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

100-Ball Cricket

In 2021, the cricketer was signed by the Oval Invincibles Women for the inaugural season of The Hundred after the competition got delayed by a year following Covid-19. She only managed to score four runs in the opening match of the competition against the Manchester Originals Women. In the second match against London Spirit Women, she scored a half-century (59 runs from 41 balls) and was named the player of the match.

On 31 July 2021, she took two wickets against the Northern Superchargers Women and scored eight runs. Alice took two wickets from 20 balls against the London Spirit Women on 14 August 2021. In the eliminator match against the Birmingham Phoenix Women, she scored 26 runs from 20 balls and took a wicket. On 21 August 2021, in the final against the Southern Brave Women, she scored 18 runs from 12 balls and took two wickets from twenty balls; Oval Invincibles Women defeated the Southern Brave Women by 48 runs and lifted the trophy. The Oval Invincibles Women retained her in the team ahead of the 2022 season of The Hundred. In the opening match of the 2022 season against the Northern Superchargers Women, she scored 25 runs from eight balls and took one wicket from five balls. She was not named to the playing eleven for the match against the Southern Brave Women on 14 August 2022. Three days later, she scored 24 runs from 18 balls and took a wicket against the Trent Rockets Women. On 23 August 2022, she took a three-wicket haul and scored 20 runs against the Birmingham Phoenix Women; Capsey was named the player of the match.

Eight days later, the cricketer scored 18 runs from 12 balls against the Manchester Originals Women. On 3 September 2022, she took two wickets from 20 balls and scored 25 runs from 17 balls against the Southern Brave Women in the final of the 2022 season of The Hundred; Oval Invincibles won the match by five wickets and retained their trophy. One Day International (ODI)

Alice Capsey made her international ODI debut against India Women on 18 September 2022 during the India Women’s team tour of England; she scored 19 runs from 28 balls. Three days later, in the second ODI match of the series, she scored 39 runs from 36 balls and she was named to the playing eleven for the final match of the series. In November 2022, she was named to the England Women’s team for the tour of the West Indies. She scored 17 runs from 13 balls in the first match of the series against the West Indies Women’s team; she got injured during the match, and the diagnosis confirmed that she broke her left collarbone. Alice was ruled out of the entire series and returned to the UK.

T20

On 23 July 2022, she made her international T20 debut against South Africa Women during the South Africa Women’s team tour of England; she bowled one over and took her maiden international wicket. Two days later, Capsey was named to the playing eleven for the final match of the series and she scored 25 runs from 17 balls and bowled an over at an economy of 4.00. In September 2022, the cricketer was named to the England Women’s team for the India Women’s team tour of England. On 10 September 2022, she scored 32 runs (not out) from 20 balls with a strike rate of 160.00 and helped England beat India by nine wickets. Alice was named to the playing eleven for the third match of the series on 15 September 2022 and scored 38 runs from 24 balls.

In January 2023, the England Women’s team for the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup held in South Africa was announced and Alice was named to the list; however, she was not completely recovered from the broken collarbone she suffered during the England Women’s team tour of the West Indies in December 2022. On 11 February 2023, in the opening match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup against the West Indies Women’s team, she scored 13 runs from nine balls. Two days later, she scored her second international half-century (51 runs from 22 balls) against the Ireland Women’s team and was named the player of the match. The cricketer was dismissed on a duck against the South Africa Women’s team in the semi-final of the competition. Women’s Premier League (WPL)

In February 2023, she was signed by the Delhi Capitals ahead of the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

On 5 March 2023, she was named to the playing eleven of the team for the opening match of the WPL; she bowled two overs and took two wickets at an economy of 5.00. Two days later, the cricketer scored 21 runs from ten balls and bowled four overs at an economy of 6.25 against the UP Warriorz Women. On 26 March 2023, the cricketer was dismissed on a duck and bowled 3.3 overs at an economy of 9.71 in the final of the WPL; she took the catch of Yastika Bhatia and dismissed Harmanpreet Kaur on a run-out. On 15 October 2022, she was named to the playing eleven for the Melbourne Stars against the Brisbane Heat in the opening match of the season; she scored 15 runs from nine balls and took one wicket at an economy of 9.50. Alice took one wicket and scored 49 runs from 31 balls against the Adelaide Strikers Women on 2 November 2022.
