In the 2008-2009 season, he played for Auckland Second XI and Auckland Under-19. From 2011-2012 to the 2015-2016 season, he played for Auckland A. In the 2012-2013 season, he started playing for Auckland. From the 2014-2015 to the 2019-2020 seasons, he played for New Zealand XI.

Indian Premier League (IPL)

In the 2017 IPL auction, he was acquired by Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) for his base price of Rs 50 lakh. In the 2019 IPL auction, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) acquired him for Rs 1.60 crore against his base price of Rs 1 crore.

In the IPL 2022 mega auction, he was acquired by Gujarat Titans for Rs 10 crore against his base price of Rs 2 crore. Ahead of IPL season 16 in 2023, he was traded to KKR from Gujarat Titans. In the 2024 auction, he was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for his base price of Rs 2 crore.
