Tushar Deshpande is an Indian cricketer who plays for the domestic team of Mumbai and for the India A team as well. In 2020, he was bought by Delhi Capitals during the player auction for the Indian Premier League 2020.

Tushar Deshpande was born on Monday, 15 May 1995 (Age 25 years; as of 2020) in Mumbai, India. His zodiac sign is Taurus. Tushar started playing cricket when he was in school and he used to travel from Kalyan to Dadar to practice at Shivaji Park Gymkhana. This academy is known as the Mecca for cricketers as many international cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar started their journey from this academy. He started playing for Mumbai U-16 and Mumbai U-19 and slowly made his way to India A squad.

The couple got engaged in Mumbai on 12 June 2023. They have known each other since childhood. Tushar had a crush on her since his school days.

Career

Tushar Deshpande completed his formal education from R A Podar College Of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai. Tushar Deshpande started his cricket career by playing for the domestic team of Mumbai for the Under-16 and Under-19 teams. Tushar made his first-class debut in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy for Mumbai on 6 October 2016. On 19 September 2018, Tushar made his List A debut for Mumbai when he played for the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy and they won the tournament. During the quarter-finals match of the tournament, Tushar took first-five wickets of his career. In August 2019, Tushar was listed for the India Blue team for the 2019-2020 Duleep Trophy. During the IPL 2020 auction, Tushar Deshpande was bought by Delhi Capitals for the base price of Rs. 20 lakhs.

Facts/Trivia

  • In an interview, Tushar mentioned that he went to the Shivaji Park Gymkhana academy to give the test for batsmen but he saw the line of more than 60 players waiting for the trials. Keeping in mind the distance he travels from his home to the academy, he decided to join the bowler’s line and was shortlisted for bowling. [1]YouTube
  • Tushar plays as a bowler with the bowling style of right-arm medium-fast and is known for making constant deliveries in the range of 145km/hr.

  • In 2019, Tushar was on his way to attend the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Super League when he received the news of his mother’s death due to ovarian cancer. In the match, he took 4 wickets of 19 runs which helped the team in winning the match. He dedicated this win to his mother.
  • Tushar is fond of traveling and he often visits hill stations when he is not playing any matches for the teams.
