Mannat Kashyap is an Indian cricketer who is known for being part of the ICC Under-19 Indian Women’s team that won the T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2023. She is a left-hand batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler.

Mannat Kashyap was born on Monday, 15 December 2003 (age 19 years; as of 2022) in Patiala, Punjab. Her zodiac sign is Sagittarius. As of 2023, she is studying humanities in class 12 at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Patiala. [1]Jagran She received a lot of support from her school. In the interview, she talked about her school and said,

The school has supported me a lot and they are also happy that I will hopefully go on to play the U-19 World Cup. But even after the games are over, I am preparing for my Board examinations. I am carrying my text books and also learning online.”

Since childhood, she was trained with boys. Her father has always supported her and used to bring ice cream for her after she played matches. Her mother used to stop her because she was worried about her lacking studies. When she used to play, her cousin Nupur Kashyap recognized her talent and asked her if she wanted to play cricket. Her cousin suggested her parents take Mannat to a cricket academy, but when they went no coach was ready to train a girl at that time. Fortunately, she got admitted to Cricket Hub Academy on Sirhind road where she began her training. In the beginning, she used to feel very uncomfortable playing with them, but later got used to it. Her training with boys has helped her a lot to improve her game.

Career

In December 2022, she was selected for the India U-19 cricket team and played in the junior World Cup against South Africa. In the match, she ran out Jenna Evans at the non-striker end, but the appeal was withdrawn by captain Shafali Verma. In the 2023 ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup final, she bagged a total of nine wickets in the tournament for the Indian U-19 team. In the final match, she took one wicket against England women’s U-19 team. Mannat Kashyap was acquired by Gujarat Giants for Rs. 10 lakh in the 2024 Women’s Premier League auction held in Mumbai on 9 December 2023.
