The incident occurred on 19 April 2008.

Rizwan had a good rapport with Hyder and it was amazing to see right from the first day how they jelled. We both clicked well.”
- Nishad Fatima had an arranged marriage with Syed Fakhar Ali. The couple met and saw each other for the first time at their own nikah ceremony. Nishad’s and Fakhar’s father were friends and decided to fix the marriage for their children. Syed Kirmani, while talking about fixing his daughter’s marriage with Abid Ali’s son, said,
Apparently, Fakhar liked what he saw of my daughter there (in a wedding ceremony held in Hyderabad). He decided he wanted her as his partner. I never knew all this. Then, a little over a year ago, Abidbhai called from the US, and said, ‘Look, Bhai, I want to take your daughter away from you; I want her to marry my son.’
He further added,
I said, sure, but I need to know what your son does for a living and so on. We exchanged all relevant information by e-mail. He sent me his son’s biodata, I sent him my daughter’s. There was a lot of information exchanged. As a parent, I wanted a lot of specific information from him. Everything seemed to fit perfectly. The will of the Almighty was also there. The marriage was fixed.”
- Nishad Fatima, got to know about her son’s Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (PDDNOS), a kind of autism spectrum disorder. in 2008. The 25-year-old Nishad, already recovering from her husband’s death, faced a huge shock. To get better treatment for her son, she moved back to the US. During a media interaction, she narrated one of the most difficult moments she faced with her child, as,
In 2010, I came back to India on a vacation and it was during this time that Hyder developed the phobia of flying. We were to leave for the US via Hong Kong. Hyder refused to board the flight from Hong Kong to California and we were off-loaded thrice from the aircraft. It was a long wait at the airport for over 12 hours. We had sedated him but he woke up just before the take-off. The flight was on the runway and it was brought back after Hyder created chaos.”
- In order to treat her child in a better way, Nishad Fatima, in 2011, got herself enrolled at the Spastics Society of Karnataka to study a special educator course in autism, which eventually helped her in understanding her child’s treatment in the right way. Years later, her child did far better than his original conditions and has a successful treatment going in.
- Nishad Fatima strongly believes her parents have gone way out of their ways to help her in her journey. From facing her husband’s death to her child’s disorder she went through a lot at a very small age. Thanking her parents, she said,
My trust in the Almighty never faded while I faced many a challenge. My father and mother and the entire family unit stood behind me. My dad has been my mentor and he always reminded me that I need to keep going on. There were times I played the dual role for Hyder. Everyone was showing love and sympathy towards the kid but I had to strike a balance between love, discipline and principle. I am glad, I did it.”
