In 2021, he quit the Bharatiya Janata Party and joined Janta Dal United as state secretary. Within a short span, he was appointed as a state general secretary at Janta Dal United. He joined politics to work for the welfare of Kashmiri citizens. He has been closely monitoring the problems of the people and working for their betterment.
