Parents & Siblings
Her father passed away when she was too young. Her mother, Saroj Bhargava, acted in the shows of All India Radio and Doordarshan. She had one elder brother who died a few years ago, her sister is married, and her younger brother Abhay Bhargava is an actor.
Her brother Abhay is the father of the Indian television actor Ankita Bhargava who is married to Karan Patel.
Seemaâs nephew, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub is an actor who is known for playing many popular roles in Hindi films, especially the role of Dhanushâs friend in the Hindi film âRaanjhanaaâ (2013).

Seema Bhargava met the famous Indian TV actor Manoj Pahwa while they were working with the theatre group âSambhav Group.â Seema and Manoj became friends, and soon, they fell in love with each other. They were roped together in the popular Hindi TV serial âHum Logâ (1984). On 23 January 1988, the couple tied the knot, and they are blessed with a daughter, Manukriti, and a son, Mayank, and both their children are actors. Career
Her mother was a stage artist, and and during her childhood, Seema used to accompany her to watch various stage shows. Seema’s mother asked her to audition as an actor for the first time at the age of five, and she auditioned for the musician and author PL Deshpande. She has also worked as a child artist in various Hindi films.
Later, she started working as a theatre artist with the renowned theatre groups like Sambhav group, LTG, Shri Ram Centre, and National School of Dramaâs Repertory Company.Â
After her marriage, and giving birth to two children, she moved to Mumbai, from Delhi along with her family. In an interview, she shared her journey as an actor, she said,
I acted in the Naseeruddin Shah-directed Katha Collage I and Kambakht Bilkul Aurat for Motley theatre group. By the time I grew up, I had worked with all the best directors in Delhi at the time, like B.M. Vyas, B.V. Karanth, Bansi Kaul, Bhanu Bharti and Rajinder Nath. I have done everything from street theatre to Ramleelas to performing at fairs like the famous Nauchandi Mela. There is no better way to shed all hichak (inhibitions) than performing for crowds in open-air spaces. There is chaos, kids howling, people eating chaat, and you have to reach them above the din, and have no clue how they will react.â
She has acted in many Hindi theatrical productions like Aadhe Adhure,â âKhamosh Adalat Jari Hai,â âQaid-e-Hayat,â and âNatsamrat.â
She debuted as an actor in the Hindi TV serial âHum Logâ (1984) in which she played the role of âBadki.â The show was aired on Doordarshan, and she got immense popularity with this show.
She has acted in many Hindi TV serials like ‘Pehla Pyar’ (1997), ‘Hip Hip Hurray’ (1998), ‘Aandhi’ (2003), ‘Hum Ladkiyan’ (2008), and ‘Lakhon Mein Ek’ (2012).Â
Some of her popular Hindi films as an actor are âSardari Begumâ (1996), âZubeidaaâ (2001), âFerrari Ki Sawaariâ (2012), âDum Laga Ke Haishaâ (2015), âBareilly Ki Barfiâ (2017), âShubh Mangal Saavdhanâ (2017), and âBalaâ (2019).
