4 years back, I learnt to play songs on the cup as a coping mechanism. I lost someone v close to me and I had pretty much become a recluse. I would resent ppl and then hate myself for resenting them. Around that time, I came across Mithila’s video and it was perfect. The video was pure joy. And I wanted that. Desperately. Hence learning the cup song became an obsession. It distracted me from the gut wrenching sadness that had enveloped me. I’d travel with a stupid cup everywhere and would play it everytime I got a minute free. I’d do it while talking to people without realising how irritating it must have been for them lol. I don’t do it anymore cause I went for therapy and have dealt (am trying to deal) with grief in a healthier way but this useless talent will always remain important cause it kept me sane even though I seemed insane This is one of my favourite medleys and it’s by @akshaynayar and @ankur.dobriyal. I’ve listened to it from time to time and have constantly raved about it to Akshay. If you haven’t seen it, you defs should. 60 years of Bollywood on Scoopwhoop’s YT channel. Pyaar hai woh Also, I know this isn’t perfect but it never was about that, was it? Anyway, I hope you find your joy ♥️
