Journey to the Indian Air Force
After completing her 12th, she found out that no woman has become a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force (IAF) after 2015, so, she decided to join the Indian Air Force (IAF) as a fighter pilot and joined Centurion Defence Academy in Mirzapur. Although she failed in her first attempt to qualify for the IAF, she did not give up hope and passed the National Defence Academy (NDA) Entrance exam on her second attempt in 2022. Out of 400 seats in NDA, only 19 were allotted for girl candidates, and only 2 seats were allotted for fighter pilots. She secured 63rd rank in the NDA exam and got the second rank for a fighter pilot. She said that she wanted to break the myth that only boys are fit for combat and wanted to set an example for girls through her success. She further said that even though she studied in Hindi medium from Uttar Pradesh Board, she always took English as a language only and was confident that she would be able to join IAF. She credited her parents and Shishir Dixit Sir of Centurion Defence Academy for supporting her. She joined NDA at Khadakvasla, Pune on 27 December 2022. IAF also issued a statement congratulating her on her success and wished her the best for her 4 years of training to become a fighter pilot and to get further commissioned in the IAF.
