In 2015, he was once again given the role of Mahisasur in the Bengali TV serial titled Mahisasurmardini. In 2018, Samrat was offered a role in the Bengali TV show Jayang Dehi. In his acting career, Samrat Mukerji has been signed up for several Bollywood films, which were ultimately shelved by the producers themselves. In 1996, he was offered roles in four Bollywood films, Namak Halal, Ujala, Rankshetra, and Humrahi, which were shelved. In 2002, in the film Shaheed Bhagat Singh, he was offered the titular role of the freedom fighter, Bhagat Singh. The film was shelved by the producer in 2002.
Controversy
In August 2024, Samrat Mukerji landed into a controversy after his car hit a motorcycle in the Behala area of south-western Kolkata. Soon after the incident, he was arrested by the Kolkata Police for an investigation into the matter. [3]The Times of India
