Career

Sajid debuted as music director with his brother, Late Wajid Khan in the Bollywood song, “Teri Jawani” from the film ‘Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya’ (1998). Sajid-Wajid gained popularity with the Sonu Nigam’s music album “Deewana” (1999), in which they composed music for the songs, “Deewaana Tera,” “Ab Mujhe Raat Din,” and “Iss Kadar Pyaar Hai.” Sajid-Wajid composed music for a few albums like ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’ (2001) and ‘Tera Intezar’ (2005). Sajid and Wajid worked as a music composer for various films, including ‘Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai’ (2002), ‘Gunaah’ (2002), ‘Chori Chori’ (2003), ‘The Killer’ (2006), ‘Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar’ (2006), ‘Jaane Hoga Kya’ (2006), and ‘Freaky Ali’ (2016).’

Sajid-Wajid’s popular songs are ‘Soni De Nakhre’ (Partner, 2007), ‘Jalwa’ (Wanted, 2009), ‘Surili Akhhiyon Wale’ (Veer, 2010), and ‘Muni Badnam Hui’ (Dabangg, 2010). Sajid-Wajid penned down the lyrics of various Bollywood songs like ‘Jee Le’ (Aag, 2007), ‘Le Le Mazaa Le’ (Wanted, 2009), and ‘Fevicol Se’ (Dabangg 2, 2012). Sajid-Wajid composed background score for the Hindi films, ‘Welcome’ (2007), ‘Bullett Raja’ (2013), and ‘Daddy’ (2017). Sajid has appeared as a mentor in the singing TV reality shows, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar’ (2010) and ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ (2012).

 

Sajid, along with his brother Wajid, composed the tracks for the TV shows like ‘Dus Ka Dum, (2008)’ ‘Bigg Boss 4, (2010)’ and ‘Bigg Boss 6’ (2012). Sajid-Wajid composed Salman Khan’s lockdown songs ‘Bhai Bhai’ and ‘Pyaar Karona’ during the Coronavirus lockdown.
