He began his career as an amateur boxer in his hometown, and later, he moved to California, where he befriended world champions and made them his sparring partners. Stunt Performer (In Films)

He made his debut as a stunt performer with the American film ‘3 Ninjas: Knuckle Up’ in 1993.

He performed stunts in American films like The Glimmer Man (1996), Blade (1998), The Scorpion King (2002), Daredevil (2003), Dawn of the Dead (2004), and Constantine (2005). Other prominent American films in which he worked are 300 (2006), Iron Man (2008), Thor (2011), The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), and 300: Rise of an Empire (2014). He worked as a stunt double for the Hollywood actor Ben Affleck in the films Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Suicide Squad (2016), Justice League (2017), Triple Frontier (2019), and Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021).

• He choreographed stunts in the American film ‘Resident Evil: Apocalypse’ (2004) and TV Series ‘Fallen (2007).’

• Initially, he intended to get his instructorship from Dan Inosanto’s academy and return to his hometown to open up a school. However, after working in a few films, he became interested in performing arts. Talking about it in an interview, he said,
  

  Doing stunt work in films was something that always intrigued me though and after learning that two of my training partners also shared that interest we started practicing stunt fighting on the weekends. Because I am a martial artist the interest in fight choreography has always been there. I have just leaned towards choosing the performing jobs over the fight choreography jobs because I enjoy performing more.”

• In 2018, he won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture for Wonder Woman, which was shared with other stuntmen in the film.

• Since childhood, he wanted to portray Batman. In an interview, talking about it, he said,
  

  I have wanted to portray Batman for as long as I have been in stunts. I started watching Batman and collecting comics at 5 years old and he has been my favorite super hero since. Before we started shooting the film Zack Snyder wanted to use me for some promo shots in front of the Batmobile. This was in Detroit in the middle of winter and it was freezing out. This was the first time I had the complete suit on and I was so psyched. I kept looking at my shadow on the ground and geeking out. Zack asked me several times if I was ok because of the cold weather, but I honestly never noticed it. (laughing) Needless to say in 25 years of stunts BvS has been my favorite job.”

• He considers his father (a basketball player for the University of Cincinnati) and his grandfather (a boxer) as his role model. Talking about it in an interview, he said,
  

  Growing up my dad would tell me stories of my grandfather’s prowess with his fists. He used to travel up and down the east coast giving speed bag demonstrations. My father and grandfather were blessed with exceptional hand speed. So for whatever reason ever since I was a kid I was obsessed with being fast just like them. Lucky for me that fast twitch gene was passed on to me. It’s served me well at times in my career like when you have to perform in a big latex suit and still be the fastest guy in the room.”
