In May 2016, Namra created a self-titled YouTube channel, where she posts funny and entertaining videos with her husband Virat Beniwal; the channel has more than 600K subscribers. Her first YouTube video titled ‘Types Of Girls,’ which was uploaded on the channel in May 2018, crossed more than 3M views. Namra recieved her YouTube Silver Play Button in Janaury 2019 after exceeding 100K subscribers.

Namra has feautred in a few music videos on YouTube like “Hue Bachain Pahli Baar Humne Raaj Ye Jana” (2019), “Wah Chore,” and “Nachungi” (2020).

Controversy

Booked under extortion charges after threatening to frame in a fake rape case

Namra Qadir sparked controversy when she was arrested by the Gurgaon police on 5 November 2022 on the basis of the complaint lodged by Dinesh Yadav, a Badshahpur resident and owner of an advertising firm, who accused Namra and her husband Virat Beniwal, for allegedly extorting around Rs 80 lakh from him, blackmailing him with his private intimate photos, and intimidating him for framing in a fake rape case. Dinesh revealed that Namra called her to a party, and forced him to drink following which she took him to a hotel room, where she recorded his intimate photos, and threatened him to give money unless she would frame him under fake rape charges. Dinesh lodged a complaint in August 2022, which read,

I had seen her videos on social media and had communicated with her. She introduced me to (her husband), who is also a YouTuber. They agreed to work with my company and asked for Rs 2 lakh advance, which I paid the same day. Later for some advertisement work, they asked for Rs 50,000 and I transferred it to their account. She said she would return the money later after her sister’s wedding. I also liked her and we started hanging out together, and (her husband) always accompanied her. One day, they took me to a club for a party and forced me to drink alcohol. The three of us then booked a room in the hotel and slept. The next morning, she asked me for my card and smartwatch and blackmailed me by threatening to lodge a rape case against me if I refused to do so.”

After Dinesh registered the complaint, Namra refused to appear for investigation and applied for interim bail application. On 18 November 2022, the district court rejected her bail plea following which an FIR was registered against her under sections 388 (extortion by threat of accusation of an offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 506 (criminal intimidation), 34 (common intention), and 328 (causing hurt by means of poison etc) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). During an interview, police inspector Rajesh Kumar revealed that Namra confessed to the crime and said,

Qadir has confessed to the crime and we have taken her on police remand to recover the money and other items that were taken by her from the victim under alleged pressure. Her husband and co-accused Manish alias Virat Beniwal will be arrested soon.” ^[2]Deccan Herald
