Career

He pursued a certification in International Baccalaureate from the American-British Academy soon after completing his school education in India. In June 2004, Nalin Moniz joined as a Summer Analyst at Lehman Brothers, an American global financial services firm, in New York, USA, and worked there till August 2004. After that, he completed a Minor in Mathematics course at the University of Pennsylvania in 2005. Meanwhile, he also completed a Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology at the same university. Nalin Moniz then joined Goldman Sachs Group in July 2005, an American multinational investment bank and financial services company, in New York, USA, as a Portfolio Manager and worked there until May 2009.

In 2009, Nalin Moniz earned a Chartered Financial Analyst certificate from the CFA Institute in the USA. When he was 25 years old, he left his job at Goldman Sachs with the support of only one investor. He made this decision after the financial crisis in the USA made the future of the asset management industry uncertain in 2008. He returned to India to pursue his dream. In July 2009, Nalin Moniz and his wife, Radhika Gupta, started a company called Forefront Capital. They combined his previous experience with a less-explored area in India and began working as its director. After three years, Forefront Capital became the first officially licensed hedge fund in India. Nalin Moniz played a crucial role in creating a new part of the financial industry. He worked at Forefront Capital until May 2014.

In May 2014, Nalin Moniz began working as a Chief Investment Officer (Alternative Equity) at Edelweiss Asset Management Limited. He served as the leader of the Emerging Leaders (EL) program for Edelweiss for four years, from August 2014 to June 2018. Since June 2017, he has been working as a mentor for Catholic youth at ‘Take Charge’ in Mumbai. In January 2019, Nalin Moniz started working as a coach at SaBeR Fitness Centre in Mumbai, India, where he coaches beginner triathlon aspirants.
