Priest of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir
In 2023, he was among the 3,000 priests who applied for the recruitment of priests in the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. Out of 3000 priests, only 200 were shortlisted for the interview based on merit. The interview was conducted at Karsevak Puram, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Ayodhya. Out of 200 priests, only 20 were selected by three-member penal including a Hindu preacher from Vrindavan named Jaykant Mishra, and two mahants named Satyanarayan Das and Nandini Sharan from Ayodhya. Mohit cleared all the rounds and was selected as a priest at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. He then did a six-month training before starting his services as a priest at the temple which was scheduled to inaugurate on 22 January 2024.
Soon after Mohit was announced as one of the priests in the temple, a few intimate pictures of him were circulated on social media. Later, the Ayodhya Police investigated the matter and it was found that the photo was morphed by AI. The Congress leader from Gujarat Hitendra Pithadiya was arrested by the police for circulating the deepfake photos. [3]Amar Ujala
