Jitesh attracted controversy when he took to social media to comment on actress Hina Khan in 2019 when she appeared at Cannes. In the story, he posted a picture of Hina and said that Cannes have become Chandivali Studio. After his comment, many actors from Bollywood and the television industry including Ekta Kapoor, Gauhar Khan, Arjun Bijlani, Nia Sharma and Nakul Mehta criticized him on social media. Later, in a Tweet, Hina said that she would work harder. He apologized to Hin when he received criticism from the industry.
