Geeta Bharat Jain is an Indian political leader. She served as the Mayor of Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation in Mumbai from 2015 to 2017. In 2018, she began supporting the Shiv Sena-led administration and became a member of the Shiv Sena. She is an independent Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from the Mira Bhayandar constituency. On 22 June 2022, Geeta Bharat Jain joined the Bhartiya Janta Party because of the growing conflicts within the Shiv Sena.

Politics
In 2002, Geeta Bharat Jain was elected as a corporator in the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation for the first time. She then started focusing on local politics within the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation. In 2012, she was elected again for a second term, and in 2015, she became the mayor. In 2017, Geeta Bharat Jain was re-elected, and during that time, she began supporting the administration led by Shiv Sena in Mumbai.
In 2019, Geeta Bharat Jain was upset with the Shiv Sena party because they didn’t choose her to compete in the general elections from the Mira-Bhayandar Assembly constituency. Even though she contested as an independent candidate, she won the election by defeating BJP leader and MLA Narendra Mehta. During her campaign, she mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s name to gain support. Later, Geeta Bharat Jain joined the Shiv Sena, but due to disagreements within the party, she left in June 2022. At that time, the BJP and the Eknath Shinde faction of the Sena were working together to form the government, so she decided to return to the BJP.
Controversies
Slapped Two Engineers
On 22 June 2023, Geeta Bharat Jain made headlines when two junior engineers reported to the Mumbai police that she allegedly harassed them and slapped one of them while they were on duty. The engineers who worked for the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation requested to file a complaint against Jain. A video of the incident was shared on social media soon after the incident. Later, Jain spoke to the media and said that she didn’t regret taking action, even though she believed the municipal corporation was doing an illegal demolition.
