Death/Murder
On 3 January 2024, she was allegedly shot dead by her hotelier boyfriend Abhijeet Singh in a room at the Hotel City Point in Gurugram. According to some sources, Abhijeet Singh had shot her dead during an argument over her mobile’s password. After checking the CCTV footage, the local police found out that around 11.45 pm on 3 January 2024, Abhijeet was seen carrying something wrapped in a blanket from the hotel room which was assumed to be Divya’s body. The body was then disposed of in a blue-coloured BMW car by the owner of the hotel and two other men named Balraj and Ravi. According to the local police, Divya had taken some obscene photos of Abhijeet and was trying to blackmail him. As per some reports, she had been extorting money from him to meet legal expenses and sustain her household; she allegedly extracted Rs. 6 lakh from Singh while being in a relationship with him. When Abhijeet asked her to give the password of her phone and delete the photos, she refused to do so after which Abhijeet shot her. Whereas, Divya’s family members filed a complaint against Sandeep Gadolia’s family members for murdering Divya as she was involved in the fake encounter of Sandeep. According to the Mumbai Police, in 2016, she gave a tip of Sandeep to the Haryana Police after which Sandeep was shot dead in a fake encounter in a hotel in Mumbai.
