Pooja’s career as a YouTube rapper and singer began in 2016 when she posted her first song, “Swag Wali Topi”. She started her music career by taking financial help from her father. The video went viral and gained traction for being “cringe”. She received several negative comments which made her more well-known. She then released one of her most popular songs, “Selfie Maine Le Li Aaj” which has 51 million views as of 2024. It was reported in 2017 that the song made her over Rs 7 lakhs via YouTube.

Due to the huge amount of hate in her comment section, she disabled comments on her YouTube account. While she has acknowledged the hate her songs receive, she stated that she chose to focus on the positive aspects and the views she got. In 2021, she put out the songs “Gaadi Meri 2 Seater” and “Party Aise Honi Chahiye”.

In 2017, she appeared on a BBC Asian Network episode hosted by Tommy Sandhu. The episode is titled “Dhinchak Pooja and Nakash Aziz”. Pooja entered Bigg Boss Season 11 (Padosi Bajayenge Barah; 2017-18) as a wild card entrant. During her time in the Bigg Boss house, rumours of her and co-contestant Akash Dadlani being in a relationship started floating around. None of the rumours were confirmed. She also made a rap song with Akash named “Yeh Hai Bigg Boss” and included her co-contestants in its video. She was evicted on 5 November 2017.

Controversies
Traffic Violation
In June 2017, a Twitter (now X) user, Mohit Singh, tagged the Delhi Traffic police in a picture of Dhinchak Pooja riding her scooter without a helmet. The photo was shot during the filming of her song “Dilon Ka Shooter”. The Delhi Police swiftly addressed his complaint and assured him that they would take action against Dhinchak Pooja for violating the traffic rules.

Pooja put out a statement saying she made a mistake and that she generally follows traffic rules.
Copyright Infringement
In July 2017, a YouTube user by the name “Kathappa Singh” presented a copyright notice to YouTube on Dhinchak Pooja’s videos. After reviewing the claim YouTube deleted her videos. The videos were later re-uploaded by other channels.
