Salman alleged that Rida disliked his mother and sister, and she forced him to live separately. In an interview, Salman justified himself and revealed the reason for divorce and said,

Attracted controversy over leaked MMS video

In November 2016, Rida’s private intimate video was leaked, which went viral over the internet. In November 2022, after six years, during an interview, she accused her ex-fiance of recording and leaking her video online. Rida’s ex-husband, Salman Sheikh, revealed the name of her fiance as Syed through a video on his Facebook handle. ^[6]NO ONE MEMES – YouTube Syed worked as a director of photography in the Pakistan film industry. Rida’s parents were against their marriage as he belonged to a different community, but Rida, somehow, convinced her parents of their marriage. During a podcast, Rida talked about the leaked video and revealed the person behind it and said,

My trust was broken by my fiancé. I had convinced my parents for him, and my mindset was conservative so I wanted to be with only one person. He wasn’t even wealthy, but when he proposed to me, I accepted it. Three years after our engagement, he leaked my pictures when I was in the US.
