He began his singing career by participating in a Pakistani singing reality TV show titled ‘Pakistan Sangeet Icon’ season 1. He emerged as the winner of the show.

In 2010, he debuted as a lead vocalist in the Pakistani sufi rock band ‘Mekaal Hasan Band;’ however, he left the group in 2011.

In 2013, he hit the spotlight after he performed the song ‘Mahi Gal’ at Coke Studio season 6.

  • In a 2023 interview, Abbas shared that he had been dealing with kidney failure for the past seven years. He mentioned that he had already spent approximately 70 million Pakistani rupees on his treatment. He had requested his family to sell their properties in Lahore and Faisalabad to gather funds for his medical care. He had also used up the 10 million Pakistani rupees he had won in a music competition and had even sold his Mercedes. He shared that his mother had passed away upon learning about his condition.   • The singer was facing financial difficulties and had reportedly reached out to the public for financial assistance for a kidney transplant, as reported by media in Pakistan. According to sources, he was battling kidney disease and had been undergoing dialysis four days a week for the past few years. He mentioned that he required 50 million Pakistani rupees for his treatment but was facing difficulties in arranging the funds. In an interview with a Pakistani news agency, he requested financial aid and said,

    I am undergoing dialysis, ‘mujhe doctors ne jawab dediya hai’ (Doctors aren’t hopeful). They say I need to be shifted to America for treatment, just like Alamgir. I am in need of financial assistance and I would urge the government to provide me with that. I have no car, and a family to support. I have been suffering from this ailment for seven years and now, both my kidneys have failed. They tried to do a kidney transplant earlier but it was unsuccessful. I have also been a singer for Mekaal Hasan Band, won a Lux Style Award, a Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and I have served my country as an artist for many years.”
