Omer Shahzad is a Pakistani model, actor, and singer. He is known for playing the role of ‘Nawab Sher’ in the 2018 Pakistani romantic comedy film Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.

Omer Shahzad was born on Friday, 14 December 1990 (age 32 years; as of 2022) in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius. In 2014, he enrolled himself in an MBA programme. ^[1]Dawn Later, he attended Arjumand Murad’s agency to learn acting. Talking about it in an interview, Omer said,

We were eight guys and were given scripts and characters to act out. The recordings would be shown to us later.”

Career

Modelling

Omer Shahzad began his modelling career in 2011 when he was selected by Vaneeza Ahmed (Vinnie) for Bridal Couture Week. In an interview, while talking about his auditions for the show, he said,

There were 200 boys and girls at the audition and I was one of the eight male models selected. Then I made an appearance in Noor’s morning show on Hum TV.”

He then did a fashion shoot with fashion coordinator Umer Mushtaq, following which he started receiving offers from the bigwigs of the Pakistani modelling industry. He has worked as a model with many celebrated Pakistani fashion designers like Deepak Perwani, Sania Maskatiya, HSY, Zainab Chotani, Fahad Hussayn, Deepak and Fahad and Zaheer Abbas.

He has walked the ramp at many popular fashion shows.

He has also been featured on the covers of various magazines like Edition, FHM Pakistan Magazine, Good Times, Fashion Forever magazine, and Weekend magazine.

Television

Omer Shahzad made his television debut in 2013 with the Pakistani drama serial Adhoori Aurat in which he played the role of Umair, an antagonist. The serial aired on Geo TV.

Subsequently, he appeared in the TV serials Choti Choti Khushiyan (2014; aired on Geo TV), Chor Darwazay (2014; aired on Express TV), Bahu Begam (2014; aired on ARY Zindagi), and Noor Jahan (2015; aired on Geo TV). In 2017, he played the lead role of Shaheer in Hum TV’s Sufi spiritual drama series Alif Allah Aur Insaan. Some of his other popular TV serials include Bharaas (2020; aired on ARY Digital), Ajnabi Humsafar (2021; aired on Sab TV), Woh Pagal Si (2022; aired on ARY Digital), and Daurr (2023; aired on Green Entertainment).

In 2023, he participated in season 2 of the Pakistani reality TV programme Tamasha that followed the format of the Dutch reality show Big Brother. The show was aired on ARY Digital.

Film

Omer Shahzad made his film debut in 2016 with the Pakistani romantic-comedy film Teri Meri Love Story directed by Jawad Bashir. He played the role of Ramis in the film and received praise from the audience.

He then made a cameo appearance in the Pakistani action thriller war film Azaadi (2018). In the same year, he appeared in the popular Pakistani film Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 in which he played the role of the main antagonist Nawab Sher.

Singing

Omer Shahzad began his singing career in 2022 by singing the song Yar Nu Meray for the second season of the television music show Kashmir Beats. Ayesha Omar also co-sung the song. In that very year, he also put out his first song called “Akhiyaan.” The song was released by Crystal Records. He has also sung the song ‘Peer Bulavey’ (2021).
