Career

After completing her degree in dentistry, Rabya began her practice as a dentist. After working as a practising doctor for a year, she realized that she was not enjoying that profession. As a result, she decided to leave her dental career and pursue a career in teaching. She taught class 4 students in a Pakistan Air Force school at Korong, Karachi.

Television

In 2017, Rabya made her acting debut with the Pakistani drama ‘Zamani Manzil Kay Maskharay’ aired on Geo Entertainment in which she played the role of Zainab. Her mother, Parveen Akbar, played the lead role in this drama. From 2017 to 2018, she played many small roles in TV shows such as ‘Dhund’ (2017), ‘Jannat’ (2017), and ‘Tere Naal Luv Hogaya’ (2018). She got a big breakthrough with the Urdu drama ‘Haara Dil’ (2018) in which she played the role of Abeer, the younger sister of the lead character Momina.

In 2019, she appeared in another Pakistani drama ‘Meer Abru’ in which she played the role of Sana, the younger sister of the lead character Abru. She has played the younger sister’s role in many TV shows including ‘Shehr-e-Malal’ (2020), ‘Fraud’ (2022), and ‘Mujhe Pyar Hua Tha’ (2023). Her role as Neelo in ‘Mujhe Pyar Hua Tha’ got appreciation from the audience. She was signed to play a vital role in the drama ‘Mannat Murad’ aired on Geo TV in September 2023.

Created chaos after dancing to a Hindi song

Rabya and her co-star Hania Amir made a dance video featuring the Hindi song ‘Patakha Guddi.’ The song contains the phrase ‘Maula Ali,’ a reference to God that holds sacred significance in Islam. Their dance video drew criticism over the use of such a song for a dance video. Due Payment Issue

In 2019, Rabya made headlines when HUM TV and Moomal Productions refused to pay her the promised amount for a project.
