Raju Punjabi (1982-2023) was an Indian singer who mostly sang pop and folk Haryanvi songs. He sang numerous hit Haryanvi songs such as ‘Desi Desi Na Bolya Kar,’ ‘Solid Body,’ ‘Sandal,’ and ‘Aacha Lage Se.’ On 22 August 2023, he died after suffering from jaundice.

Career
Raju Punjabi used to sing Punjabi songs in the initial stage of his career. However, he later started singing Haryanvi songs and gained immense popularity. In an interview, he revealed that his first song which was played on DJ was ‘Yaar Dobara Nhi Milne,’ released in 2013.
He gained immense popularity with the Haryanvi song ‘Solid Body’ in which he collaborated with Sapna Chaudhary. He collaborated with Sapna Chaudhary on several other Haryanvi songs including ‘Sweety’ (2016),’ ‘Laad Piya Ke’ (2017), ‘Tu cheez Lajawab’ (2018), ‘Teri Hawa Kasuti Se’ (2020) and ‘Jalebi’ (2020).

In September 2022, he released the Haryanvi song ‘Golu Molu’ in which he featured his younger daughter Nobita.

In 2023, he sang songs for the Haryanvi web series ‘Chaudhar.’ His last song ‘Aapse Milke Humko Acha Laga’ was released on 12 August 2023. It is a Punjabi song.

Some of his most notable Haryanvi songs include ‘Desi Desi Na Bolya Kar’ (2017), ‘Mithi Boli’ (2017), ‘Sandal’ (2017), ‘Desi Brand’ (2022) ‘Desiyan Ka Garh’ (2023) ‘Peg Neet’ (2023), and ‘Chand Chakori’ (2023).

In addition to the pop and folk songs, he also sang various devotional songs dedicated to Lord Shiva such as ‘Mahadev Moh Liya,’ ‘Bhole Teri Nagari Meh,’ ‘Bam Bam Bol,’ and ‘Bhole Baba.’ In 2019, he appeared as a guest on the Punjabi talk show ‘KhoruPanti News With Lakha,’ aired on channel Balle Balle TV.

Death
Raju Punjabi died after suffering from jaundice on 22 August 2023 at a private hospital in Hisar. He was admitted to the hospital for 10 days. Reportedly, during his treatment, he was discharged from the hospital after his health improved. However, later his health deteriorated and he was admitted to the hospital again.
