Teja Nidamanuru is a Dutch cricketer of Indian origin who spent most of his childhood and teenage years in New Zealand before shifting to the Netherlands. He has also worked as a coach, manager, and IT corporate employee.

Anil Teja Nidamanuru was born on Monday, 22 August 1994 (age 29 years; as of 2023) in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. His zodiac sign is Leo. He lived at his grandparents’ house in Vijayawada till the age of six as his mother was living and studying in Singapore. When he turned six, he, along with his parents, moved to Auckland, New Zealand where his mother got a job as a dialysis technician at the district health board of Auckland.

When he was nine, his parents separated, and his mother later raised him as a single mother. He studied at the Mount Albert Grammar School, Auckland till NCEA Level 3 from 2008 to 2012. When he was sixteen, his mother returned to India following which he lived in New Zealand alone and pursued his studies. Domestic – New Zealand

Teja Nidamanuru started training at Cornwall Cricket Club in Auckland when he was eight and later played many matches for them. He played for Cornwall – Auckland in the National Club Cricket Championships from 2014-15 to 2017-18 seasons. He has also played for Albion, Otago A, and Auckland A.

He debuted in List A (one day) for Auckland on 14 November 2018 and in T20 on 13 December 2017. While playing in the New Zealand domestic circuit, he shared dressing rooms with various New Zealand cricketers such as Mark Chapman, Colin Munro, Lockie Ferguson, and Glenn Phillips.

Domestic – Netherlands

After moving to the Netherlands in 2019, he played for SV Kampong Cricket Club in the Dutch T20 Cup and ECS Netherlands-T10 League from April 2019 to September 2019. In January 2020, he became a player cum coach of the Punjab Cricket Club Rotterdam. During a match against VOC Rotterdam in the 2021 Dutch T20 Cup, he scored 104 runs in 42 balls. He also played alongside Australian cricketer Tim David during his initial cricketing years in the Netherlands.

England

He has played for many local teams in different English leagues. He played for Lanchester Cricket Club in Division 1 of the Northumberland and Tyneside Cricket League from April 2015 to September 2015 and for Stony Stratford in the Hevey Building Supplies Northamptonshire Cricket League Premier Division from April 2016 to September 2016. He also played for Northern Universities Student Club Community Cricketers Elite in 2015.

International

He caught the selector’s attention by making quick scores in various leagues of the Netherlands and later played many international matches for them.

ODI

Teja Nidamanuru made his ODI debut on 31 May 2022 against West Indies and made his first ODI half-century with a score of 58 runs not out. His maiden ODI century came against Zimbabwe on 21 March 2023 with 110 runs not out. During the 2023 ICC World Cup Qualifier match on 26 June 2023, he helped the Netherlands tie the target score of 374 runs set by the West Indies by scoring 111 runs; the Netherlands won the match later in super over and qualified for the 2023 ODI World Cup.

T20I

On 11 July 2022, he debuted in T20Is for the Netherlands against Papua New Guinea and scored 9 runs.

From July 2017 to April 2019, he worked as a sports coach at Auckland Normal Intermediate School.
