In 2002, he got married to the Indian fashion designer Nandita Mahtani, but within a short period, the couple got divorced. Reportedly, the duo met while they were studying in London.
Karisma Kapoor
On 29 September 2003, he got married to the famous Indian actress Karisma Kapoor. The marriage was held at Krishna Raj Bungalow, in Mumbai. It was a lavish Sikh wedding ceremony.
The couple welcomed their first child Samiera on 11 March 2005, and after five years, on 12 March 2010, their son Kiaan was born.
Reportedly, after the birth of Kiaan, Karisma moved to her motherâs house in Mumbai. Soon, the rumours of Sunjay and Karismaâs divorce started in the media which turned out to be true. Priya Sachdeva
On 13 April 2017, Sunjay got married to the businesswoman Priya Sachdeva. The reception was held at The NoMad Hotel in New York.
At that time Priya was divorced from her first husband, Vikram Chatwal, and Priya and Vikram has a daughter together named Safira. In December 2018, their baby boy Azarius Kapur was born.
In an interview, Priya said,
During the flight, we realised that neither of us was what our public perception had been made out to be. The barrier of those misconceptions came down and we kept in touch.â

In 2003, he joined an automotive company Sona Somic Lemforder Components Ltd., Gurgaon, as CEO which was started by his father. In January 2006, he became the chairman at Sixt, India – Sona Mobility Services Ltd. In June 2007, he was appointed as the global chairman at ‘The Entrepreneurs’ Organization.’ In October 2008, he became the chairman at ‘Sona Koyo Steering Systems Ltd’ an automotive company in Gurgaon. He has also worked as the Managing Director at Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd., CEO at Sona Group, and Chairman at Sona Comstar.
Controversy
During an interview, Karisma said that Sunjay tortured her during their honeymoon. He asked Karisma to spend a night with his friends, but she refused it for which he physically assaulted her. She further shared that Sunjay used to have a physical relationship with his first wife even after he got married to Karisma.
