Sneha Deepthi is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Andhra women’s cricket team. She made her international T20 debut on 2 April 2013 against the Bangladesh Women’s team. On 12 April 2013, she made her ODI debut during the Bangladesh Women’s tour of India.

As a child, initially, she was not into any sports. She was about eight years old when she started accompanying her father who used to train her brother. She fielded the ball while they were playing gully cricket. After she informed her disappointment as she did not get a chance to bat, her father made her bat and gradually she developed an interest in cricket. Sneha was in the fourth class when she started taking coaching classes. In 2003, she joined a summer camp and went for sessions in the morning and her father trained her in the evenings. The first cricket net she practised in was stitched by her father and he trained her till 2007. In 2008, she joined a camp announced by the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) and played amongst many female cricketers including the state players. They were divided into two groups and she was in Group B, which consisted of beginners like herself. She made a sudden impact with her explosive batting style and was included in the group for state players within a month and also found her way into the Andhra state team within her first year at ACA.

Sneha Deepthi has represented Andhra women’s cricket team, South Central Railway Women’s Cricket team, and the Railways women’s cricket team. In 2008, she started coaching under the Andhra Cricket Association and within the same year she played in the U-19 squad and the state squad. As part of the U-19 squad, she scored 36 runs against Punjab in a crucial match and led her team to victory, this was a major turning point in her life and she was selected for the senior squad. Since then she was a key player for the state team and mainly played as an opener for the team. She was part of the Andhra women’s cricket team between 2008 and 2016. In 2016, she joined South Central Railways (SCR) and was a key player for them during their successful campaign in the 32nd All India Railway Championship.

She was selected for the Indian Railways squad after a string of good performances for South Central Railways. Following her marriage, she took a break from cricket and returned to List-A cricket in 2021. Having came out of her maternity leave and as she was no longer playing for the Railways team, she applied for a NOC from the Railways team, to play for the Andhra women’s cricket team.

At the advice of ACA director Venugopal Rao, she participated in the inter-district women’s tournament in September 2021 and made her comeback. Sneha was named the captain of the Andhra women’s cricket team before the 2021-22 season. In 2022, she scored 133 runs, including a half-century (55 and not out), for Andhra women’s cricket team in 8 matches during the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy. She was named captain of the South Zone in the Senior Women Interzonal T20 tournament 2022.

One Day International (ODI)
Sneha Deepthi made her One Day International debut on 12 April 2013 against Bangladesh women’s team at Ahmedabad during the Bangladesh Women’s tour of India. India won the match by 58 runs but she was dropped from the squad after the match.

T20
She made her T20 international debut on 2 April 2013 against Bangladesh women’s team at Vadodara during the Bangladesh Women’s tour of India. On 5 April 2013, she played against Bangladesh women in the third match of the series, but only scored one run. She was dropped from the squad after the series.
Andhra Premier League
In 2022, she was part of the Vizianagaram Royals team in the inaugural Andhra Premier League. Sneha scored 45 runs in the final, and Vizianagaram Royals won the title by defeating Vizag Dolphins.
Women’s Premier League (WPL)
In 2023, she was purchased by the Delhi Capitals for the 2023-2024 season of the Women’s Premier League in India.

Following her announcement, the Andhra Cricket Association came forward to help her and provided necessary facilities, including access to the gym and also to train under her childhood coach Janapareddy Krishna Rao.
