Sheeba Chaddha was born on Monday, 24 April 1972, (age 51 years; as of 2023) in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Her zodiac sign is Taurus. She completed her M.A. in English Literature from Hansraj College, University of Delhi. While in college, she joined a theatre group, Chingari in Delhi. Sheeba talked about the development of her interest in theatre started after watching the play, ‘Main Ladli Maina Teri,’ in an interview and said,

I was about 13-14 when I saw a play in Shri Ram Centre. It was called Main Laadli Maina Teri, directed by Sheila Bhatia – and just being there, seeing them perform on stage, it was one of those thunderbolt moments in my life which made me want to be a part of them. I didn’t know about acting, but I really wanted to be amongst them. I wanted to be on stage, and I wanted to do what they were doing. I wanted to experience what they were experiencing at that moment.”

Sheeba Chaddha had her acting debut through television in 1993 with the Doordarshan TV serial, ‘Shri Krishna,’ in which she played the role of Vasundhra.

In 1999, she appeared in ‘Star Bestsellers.’ In 2009, she appeared in ‘Na Aana Is Des Laado’ as Bajri Pratapsingh. In 2011, she appeared in ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge.’

In 2012, she appeared in ‘Hitler Didi,’ playing the role of Dulari Bua. In 2017, she appeared in ‘Chandra Nandini,’ playing the role of Apama.

• She talked about her not having a process for getting into a role, in an interview and said,
  

  It’s a little bit badtameez (shameless) that I genuinely don’t think I have a process. I keep saying this, I’m not a hardworking actor. I’m somebody who does not like too much hard work. And I don’t like to overthink… too much discussion about a role, I don’t enjoy that. If I have doubts, I’d like to have a discussion with the director but in general, I prefer to not get into the details.”

• Sheeba talked about her parents opposing her decision to join films in an interview. She also added that her parents warned her that if she joined films, she wouldn’t be welcome in their home. Eventually, her parents and family accepted her decision to become an actress and supported her in her decision.

• She has worked in several stage plays including Roysten Abel’s ‘Othello: In Black& White’, which was later transformed into a movie, titled ‘In Othello’ (2003). She has also worked in Rajat Kapoor’s ‘C for Clown’ (2007), and Atul Kumar’s ‘The Blue Mug’ (2010).
